MLBTraderumors is saying that Peralta's agent has told teams that he already has a four year $52mil offer "in hand". If so....goodbye.

Tigers can replace Smyly in the pen. There are still guys out there that can do just as well. Boone Logan for example. Filling up a bullpen that was as bad the 2013 one Detroit had, is not difficult. Maybe a little expensive...but no difficult

cleaves....I have found a couple of places that list McLouth as a Whitehall HS grad....but they all give Muskegon as birthplace. Maybe he was given ''financial endousment'' to list Muskegon on his personal info. Now if the Tigers sign him....that would go a long way to solving the mix-up.

BTW....Detroit needs to get Josh Collmenter from AZ. Michigan kid...long relief, spot starts.

So.... Robbi Cano was in town today. Rumor I hear is that Kinsler would be dealt, along with Ricky P, for Matt Kemp. If Mr I backs up the truck for RC that is. Crazy stuff.

I doubt that. ;)

Kemp is owed $150mil over 7 years and Cano isn't signing for less than $200mil. Sounds like fantasy land stuff.

I heard the Cano rumors but it sounded pretty farfetched.

I wouldn't take Kemp and his contract if he was released.

Agreed, but BP help is the easiest and cheapest to find, with the money not needed for Prince and Max next year, I don't think we would have a problem finding BP help this offseason as well as before the trade dealine next summer.

Yet i seems every year the tigers go into the season short a couple of arms in their pen. So their current philosophy on the bullpen may not be the correct route to go.

Detroit would still need to outbid the Yankees. And the Yanks have not really improved their team this offseason so I think Cano is shopping offers against the Yankees. Can't see him leaving New York.

Kinsler had 10 teams on his trade list so that will limit were he goes. But it would be an option and we never thought the Tigers could get out from Prince's contract.

Cespedes has had some injury concerns but is the type of bat that could provide Miggy protection.

I would stay away from Kemp! For all his talent I wonder why LA would try to get rid of him….injury concerns?

If the Tigers stand pat with Porcello and Scherzer I see them only making a run at a short term FA, like a Beltran. That would allow them cash this offseason to sign Scherzer or Miggy.

I still can't see Detroit resigning Scherzer, Miggy, and Fister to long term deals over the next couple of years. Between JV, Miggy, and Scherzer they would have between 75-80 million a season tied up. If Fister keeps pitching well he would be looking at a Sanchez type deal so between JV, Scherzer, Miggy, Fister, and Sanchez you would have about 100 million a season tied up.

Thats an awful big nut for 5 guys. A closer would only increase that number if they keep looking for experienced guys. I just can't see Detroit not making another big move to free up more cash and pick up pieces they currently need.

Why does everyone think the Tigers are in a hurry to extend Miggy? He will be 32 when his contract is up and is coming off an injury. I would wait and would be very hesitant to sign him.

Max makes more sense long term. I know a lot of people think last year was an aberration but I don't. He has shown steady continued improvement since he came here. His record might have been misleading but I think he is a legit #1B starter.

I don't think anyone sees Detroit hurrying to extend Miggy. But.... I think most fans look forward to years of continued awesomeness from him. I know Im not promoting dealing him like I did in the past. (Coming off injury his value would be far less than it should be anyway)

Max is a good pitcher but he wont have a season as good as 2013 again. Will he be good? Sure. But he wont be that good. If the tigers extend him now, they will be paying for the 2013 scherzer. dont think the tigers should contemplate a miggy extension until next offseason. His injury is not career threatening.

2 MVPs and a move back to 1B.

Even at 32 their is no other player in the game that is a threat to win the triple crown. I get you will have to pay him a few seasons longer than you would want but the hole in the lineup would be huge. That production is not easily replaced.

Scherzer will get a JV like deal. Not sure he is worth it. But thats an opinion based upon the stats from last season. He had great run support. I also don't like signing power pitchers long term. I get you have the anomalies like Nolan Ryan but they seem to fall off faster and get injured more often.

It's gambling really who do you place your chips on. I trust Miggy's production more than I trust Max. And I could see teams like the Yankees or Angels throw absurd amounts of cash at him if he reaches FA. Not to say I would not want Max on my team though.

GVS. yes Max WILL have another great season.
I just cant believe you don't see it. The man knows how to pitch . He can bring the heat and he has a wicked change up. His curve ball is almost as good as Verlanders.
He will be knocking on the 20 win door in 2014.

I hope Cleves comes on and gives thanks to the Wolverines...for soften up the Wild cats for them this week.

Iam thinking they are letting Jim Leyland help with signing players.....
why else for resigning Phil Coke??????????? I know left hand pitchers are hard to find. but this guy has proved over the last 2 years he sucks! Tigers can cut him before the teams head north and only pay him like $400,000..still he doesn't deserve a MLB uni.

I hope muzz drops by.....I didn't catch the score of the Lions/Tampa game today. What is the Lion's record currently? I am sure it could not be as bad as the record the AZ Cardinals have.

Im not saying he will be bad, I think he will be good. I just dont see him AS good as 2013. Ive been a max fan since we traded for him and have been waiting patiently for him to reach his potential so last year was awesome. Im also a tigers fan though first and I just dont see how they keep max, JV, anibal, fister and porcello in the next couple of years. Sanchez and JV are already taken care of so that leaves the other three. Max will require the most money out of them but will also give the tigers the most in a return. I hated seeing granderson go as well but loved the return we received. The only untradeable guys on the tigers should be JV, miggy and iggy.
