This site appears to be very anti-Leyland. I'll keep my thoughts to myself.

How about this: What is the opinion on resigning Jhonny Peralta? Move Iglesius to 2nd or put Peralta in LF? Or just let him walk and resign Infante?

I'm definitely not in the anti Leyland crowd but even he would admit he did a poor job on Sunday.
As for moving Iglesias, are you crazy? He has the skills to be a Gold Glove winner for the next decade at the most important defensive position. Peralta would be better served as a third baseman but we already have a pretty good hitter there.

Remember when moving Cabrera back to third got laker labeled as crazy? I do. (Suck it iffy) There's a better chance of Peralta being on the roster again next year than Dirks.

In a perfect world, the Tigers would not have 3 players whose best fit is at DH (Martinez, Cabrera, Fielder). Yet, that is what they have. Throw in speedless Avila and you add to your one dimensional team. Keeping Peralta''s bat would be nice for a team that does not play station to station baseball...but that is what Detroit has. Add to the situation of having to sign Scherzer (or not) before 2015 and extending Cabrera in two years, signing Peralta to a 2-3 year deal would be wasteful, in my view....even if he could play LF. It's a big outfield in Detroit, slow-moving Jhonny is not the answer there. Move Iggy to 2B and keep Peralta at SS? Nope, can't see that either. I get it that some fans get anal-retentive about their players...but IMO, Peralta needs to be seen in the rearview mirror in 2014.

Tigers to calm the seas with a win today.

Don't take my opinion on Peralta being around for what I want to happen. It's simply what I think will happen. I hate that fucker at short.

I'm hoping to see JL change the lineup today, but I guess that won't happen. Perhaps move Infante to the top and slide Jackson to #8? What little speed Jackson does have is wasted at the leadoff spot. Need to have the hottest bats in the #1,2 spots and neither Jackson, nor Hunter are hitting.
As for Dirks? I can see him having some value as a #4 outfielder next year, spelling Hunter in right and Castellanos in left.

Off it was just the playoffs that AJ was struggling with I could see leaving him in the leadoff spot but this has been going on since early September. I like the loyalty aspect of Leyland but watching AJ swing at a baseball right now is painful.

Well.... Johnny's at short today. And Andy gets a chance to play baseball again out in left. If they even get this one in. Sounds like a lot of rain is headed in this afternoon.

Man we NEED this game played today.....

I NEED this bad taste out of my mouth from sunday....

Has anyone else woke up in the middle of the night, or early morning, and remember game 2 and get that sick my girlfriend dumped me feeling? Ive never been so mad at ONE sporting event than game 2. Up 2-0 is million miles better than 1-1. We had one out in the 8th.....then it all became a blur.......like muzzer said.....hard to say what reliever sucked.....none of them pitched very long.

Seen on mlive....leyland blames himself for not warning benoit to be careful with papi.......wtf???

How about all your dumb micro managing old man? Hell benoit should KNOW to be careful with the ONE sox player who has a flare for the dramatics.

But we already know the pen sucks howie, you stick with whats wrking and that was scherzer.

I haven't confirmed this, but several people have told me Max was seen in the dugout after the sixth telling Leyland he could go "one more". Then Max proceeded to go out in the 7th and throw 96-97 several times, thinking it would be his last inning. Therein may be the reason Leyland went to the pen instead of putting Max back on the hill for the 8th.

How's the weather looking up there? Smitty said something about rain earlier.

Rain in the eighth after seven strong by JV sounds good to me.

Actually, postseason games all have to go at least the regulation 9 innings. So if rain washes out the game in the 8th, they continue on Wednesday.

Miggy has reached base in all 31 post series games? Most all time....Did I read that correctly? that alone is impressive.
