That bowl of Boo Berry really hit the spot. Why of all players available was Santiago the choice? There's 5 better/faster options. Perez woulda been my choice. But I wouldn't have let The Amazing Al even warm up, so.... C'mon Veras, I assume.

To McCarver ... Santiago is going to replace Cabrera at 3B anyway, and he'd rather have the LF replacement hit higher in the batting order than Santiago. Actually, having Santiago (instead of the LF replacement) run for J-honny makes a lot of sense.

It doesn't make sense to me. Why not Perez? He's much quicker, and Santiago could just replace him. I understand why he didn't use Kelly/Dirks.

as much as I dislike Country Joe. He has a strong dislike for the whole Yank/Red Sox deal of 4 hour 9 inning games where there are a ton of walks and expects guys to be ready to hit. So thats good for us. good news he will back behind the plate for a potential game 7.

It wasn't such a critical run as to use up the bench. Santiago has decent enough speed. If this thing goes extra there might be a moment where we want Perez running for someone like V-Mart.

Is there something Im missing on Santiago being a better third baseman than Peralta? This move also makes little sense to me. Jhonny is slow on the bases and has no range but I don't see Ramon as an upgrade at much of anything.
