Tainted? Tell me how many world series are tainted then? I bet theres alot......

I dont think PED's help you hit a baseball......maybe help you hit it farther.......are you telling me the WWE could come in and hit JV with ease? Jhonny took something to help get over an injury quicker.

So why was robert fick a bum? He took PED's. didnt help him. Im sure theres a crap load of minor league ballers taking PED's that will never make the big leagues. PED's do not help you hit a baseball.....only give you more power.

Again, this might be one of the most ignorant comments I have ever read. The erroneous assumptions imbedded in your argument are too numerous to list. If one of your cronies won't help you out, why should I?

Smitty has taken the big leap....the statue he railed on at SS is now going to track down fly balls and line drives in LF....he threw the baby out with the bath water.....lol

I'd also be fine with him playing third. Never ever ever liked him at short. Nowhere near the same type of quickness is needed when you're 250 feet from the plate. I had to watch Delmon Young, Jhonny certainly can't be worse. (PEDs have never bothered me)

Nice move sending Ricky to the pen by Leyland. I like it. I also like Polanco, and he's a definite roider. Like Maggs, Carlos Guillen and Pudge.

Alright then. I want to be a guy who doesn't get (cant fathom, lacks understanding, is baffled as to)why people care about PEDs.

And, me being the weird dude I am, I am always,.........................myself.

It's a lot easier that way, no lies to remember.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news -

Gates Brown, the best pinch-hitter in Detroit Tigers history and a member of the 1968 World Series champions, died today, the team said. He was 74.
Brown, a native Crestline, Ohio, broke into the majors in 1963 and played his entire 13-year career with the Tigers. He was the hitting coach when the Tigers won the World Series in 1984.
He played in 13 major league seasons, all with the Tigers, and was a lifetime .257 hitter.

Maybe you all have heard this one but I'll give it to you anyways. Back in the day Gator used to sit out in the bullpen and order hotdogs from the vendors. One game after just getting his hotdogs he was called on to pinch hit, he took the hotdogs stuffed them in his shirt and went to pinch hit. Hit a gapper, sure enough had to do a head first slide into second and came up with Mustard and Dogs all over his shirt. Gator was one of a kind, great pinch hitter and batting coach. RIP Gator.

The Gator was sitting at the end of the bench eating 2 hot dogs when he was called in to pinch hit. So, he woofs one down dog and puts the other in his rear pocket. Well, Gator hits a double in which he had to slide into second, smashing the dog AND making it look like he "shit his britches". In true Gator fashion he says "I'm just a pinch hitter, no one noticed".

RIP Gator.

If you were counting on that start I feel your pain. (Championship Week Pressure is mounting!!!)But I've found fantasy gold this year in daily leagues from the likes of Drew Smyly, Brett Cecil, Luke Hochevar and Josh Collmenter. (Robbie Ross last year, right muzz?)A couple extra appearances each week from a starter spot, without burning a start. Love those relieving starters. I even snuck a few extra points outta Justin Masterson on Monday. Weekly leagues offer no such advantage though do they?

An athlete or a parent would understand. I'm pretty sure you are pretty good at pretending you were once an athlete.

I'm great a pretending I was a athlete. Heck, my mom and dad told me so, but I was also doped up on Cola, candy bars and sugar......

I still made plays that put Ty Cobb or Alan Tramell to shame, or at least I think I did, but then again I was 8.

Jhonny did his time. 50 games.
what about the 2 rings the red sox won?
or a couple Yankees rings???
he got caught. got 50 games. next time it will be over for him.

what about the football players? how many caught this year? Von Miller was a joke. got caught trying to taint his test. got 6 games. big deal. all sports use them. better testing needed.

Gator gone. Dam good PHer. every one loved the guy.

funny story.. he was hitting a hot dog loaded with mustard... mayo Smith called on him to PH.
he had to hide the hot dog in his shurt. Mayo would have been mad if he caught him eating in the dug out... so he doubled...had to slide into second base. he said he got mustard all over his chest. funny story. He served prison time before he joined the Tigers.
the gator..gone .

Here's the thing for me. I'm a fan of sport first and foremost. Doesn't matter if it is cycling, baseball, or cricket. I love competition. I grew up in Detroit and have played a lot of baseball in my life so I am a "fan" of the Tigers. The way that I would draw the distinction for a tainted WS Ring is this. If a team wins a championship with a player that is known to be taking performance enhancing drugs and doesn't take all actions to remove that player from competition, it is tainted. I have no idea whether the Red Sox or Yankees management knew their players were doing what they were doing but once a season is over, it is recorded and over. No sense going back and changing it. I feel the same way about Armstrong's Yellow Jerseys. It sickens me as an athlete but it is done.

In reality, football isn't a sport. It is a chemical experiment gone viral.
