It has been the "surprise hero" series for the Tigers. Avila, Kelly, and now Bonderman. 3 IP, 1 hit, 3 Ks and a win for the old fella. Welcome back!

Hey hey....give prince a lil piece of that pie...hes howngree.....lol....but yeah...bondo was very impressive....happy for him...now my bonderman rookie card may go up a few pennies:yahoo:

Did any of you hear that some Indian fans were chanting "Detroit is Bankrupt" at
Wednesday's game. THAT, is a sure signal that they have accepted that their 'team' is outclassed.

There were actual Indians fans at the game? During several quiet moments, I heard chants of "Eat 'em up, Tigers, eat 'em up!"

Would be nice if max stayed....but if he doesnt, im sure DD has a plan.....once hunter and vmart are done, it will free up money....i see the tigers just getting what they need year in and year out as long as the core stays together....we lose max? I see us filling his spot with a younger cheaper pitcher with talent....the same way we flipped grandy and edwin for younger and cheaper max and ajax.

Yeah i heard the eat em up tiger chant alot also.....i also heard the MVP chant when miggy hit his bomb. The tiger fans have taken over cleveland and the white sox home fields this year. That is support.

Bondo doing what he was brought in to do. Middle relief and ability to go more than 1 inning. A big problem in the pen. Al will probably be the odd man out if and when Dotel comes back. Just too inconsistent. Back to Bonderman. He is still getting his arm strength back still from surgery and probably only around 90 %. Could end up being a permanent addition to the pen. remember he originally wanted to come to Detroit but felt more of an opportunity to start with the M's.

Max will be under a lot of pressure to take the best FA deal offered as he could be in line for JV King Felix type money instead of giving Detroit a home team discount. Max could single handily raise the expectations for Number 1 starters at contract time. Which is great for Max but sucks for Tiger fans.
not sure he will really be under any great pressure. He has stated he wants to stay in detroit. He also is a pretty smart guy who knows he is a fly ball pitcher and it probably will not translate to yankee stadium. He isn't going to sign for a huge discount. Still probably gonna take 20 mil a season.

That had to be the largest strike zone I have ever seen called in MLB game.. Was it just me or was the ump calling high strikes and balls 6 inches off the plate strikes? And that gun in Clev has to be off... I noticed Verlander was hitting high 90's yesterday.. and was happy.. but something is off when you see this rookie hitting high 90's in the 7th inning... Rondon hitting 103... and even Benoit hit 97...

I've thought the same thing for the whole series. I really noticed it when JV pitched. Don't get me wrong. He pitched great but he was getting all of the calls. It's been the same for both side though, imo.... and no way Rondo throws 103.

Two different umpires. It was moderately large for Verlander, but huge last night. One thing I've noticed this season when JV was struggling a lot with control is he doesn't get the strike calls on balls a few inches off the plate like we saw in previous seasons. This last game, he was around the plate more and it did look like he had the close ones getting called strikes.

Rondon has more of a chance at 103 than Benoit does at 97... When I saw that I knew the gun was off.

And when JV doesnt get the calls he gets frustrated and i believe thats where the trouble starts. Sometimes he seems to let the game get him.

I see iggy got scratched from tonights lineup. From last nights slide. Hunter getting night off also.....lets go max!

Everybody loves to pile it on prince, but if you look.....hes the only one whos in the infield not missing time....infante, iggy, miggy, jhonny........sometimes things get overlooked. Prince might make alot, but he shows up every night....no need for days off.....avoids injuries.....and gives it his all.....all of the time.

All the injun fans went back into their holes for the year. Trying to figure out what the last 2 seasons had to do with this season AND will have with next season......collapses after the AS break.....its the cleveland way

Alex rios claimed by the rangers.

Morning (it still is here),
It looks pretty evident that the Tigers will make the post season....fingers crossed. I was just wondering if the game plan, for October, is to blame any negative results on Jim Leyland? I understand that a lot of you will be shifting over to the Lions/football boards in the next couple of weeks and your attention and close scrutiny of the Tigers will diminish. Thus do you hold the "Blame Leyland" card at the ready, since blaming all problems on the manager is the simplest course to take?

Did any of you hear that some Indian fans were chanting "Detroit is Bankrupt" at Wednesday's game. THAT, is a sure signal that they have accepted that their 'team' is outclassed.

Since very few will see this post..........

Someone is missing........who?
