Tigers shut out for the 7th time on Friday, after being shut out only twice in the regular season all last year. Great pitching and no hitting in Game 1, good hitting and crummy pitching in Game 2. Result: two more 1-run losses. That seems to be the big reason the Tigers cannot pull away yet... can't get their hitting and pitching going in the same game often enough. I still think over a 162-game season, that stuff works itself out and the cream rises to the top. We shall see.
I agree 100 percent. They just cant put the two together AND sometimes when they get the SP and hitting clicking together, the BP or leyland blow it. They all need to get on same page. Then they can all have a day off on one day where they all suck.
But i agree.....thats what makes baseball so different from football...162 games, the better teams usually rise to the top, unlike the NFL where a few great sundays when needed can push an underdog to the playoffs.
