The Jazz seem to have tried to start games with more threes than they have in previous years. I understand the need to be a threat from everywhere and the benefit of shooting well, but I prefer playing the percentages. Look for a good shot, look for a good shot, look for a good shot. Inside out. That way if we need to take a three or get an open look, great. But I would rarely call a three point shot play to start a game.

I have talked about being more effective shooting > 33% taking all threes versus ~50% on taking all two-point shots. But if every shot is a good shot and matches those thresholds, you'll get the best hybrid.

I agree.

I'm not sure in THIS game though, that they took too many 3's, I remember a lot of shots in the 1st quarter, at the basket.
