Well I might the be the only one still playing Destiny. I am determined to get to Level 30 for some weird reason. Normally I don't care about that sort of thing but I want to beat the Vault of Glass on hard and make it to level 30.
I have no real urge to get to 30 but Id like to get as many exotics as I can through Xur before Bungie nerfs that, too. Pretty much everything else just takes too much time and Im not guaranteed a useful drop.

But isn't that the point? If you got awesome shit every time you won something then it would be kinda boring. Everyone would be maxxed out almost immediately.

The game is supposed to be a 10 year game. Not sure it will work that way but we will see.

So Bungie announced that the Iron Banner is coming back and there are some significant changes to it. First off, they will be seriously pulling back on level nerfing. It sounds like it will still be there to some degree. But if you are a level 12 tangling with a level 29, you are going to be in for a bad day.

Bunch of other changes as well..

Iron banner gear can now get you to level 30. I welcome this change.
Seems good. According to the trophy data, 85-90% of the player base has yet to complete Vault of Glass and of that player base, I'm sure half of them cheated on the boss.

The fact that less than 15% of the player base has completed the game's only Raid at this juncture is a bad sign. I'm guessing most people can't find 5 other good players that they trust.

I still find the game really fun to play. I just have a feeling that it needs a major overhaul and not some dlc patches.

5 million copies sold, why make the game more enjoyable when they can make you pay even more money than you already paid for the game. It was already reported that some of the DLC was already on the actual discs being sold, you're just paying extra to unlock content that's already on your disc.

Video game companies are in it for the $.

IMO, that is the biggest problem for most people. Until I found destinyteamfinder.com I wouldn't even bother trying Raid because none of my actual friends play video games, or at least this video game. Do playing something that requires 6 people, made it something that I simply couldn't do.

Add to that the fact that you need most people to be at least lv 28 to be competititve on Raid normal and it gets even harder.

Its a real problem.

I was looking at the trophy data today and it said that 11% of the PS4 Destiny population has beaten the Raid and only 4.5% have done it on hard and that was with the ability to punch the final boss off the edge.

Endgame content needs Fireteams of 3 and Fireteams of 6. I turned on my PS4, saw none of my friends were playing Destiny and then realized that I wasn't playing Destiny today.

I have to think that some sort of matchmaking has to happen with the DLC release.

Truth be told, I would be very surprised if the DLC released is just new maps and challenges. I think if that is the case then Bungie really going to regret it. If you believe this link..

Leaked Details Shed Light on Destiny's New Sub-Classes - SegmentNext

They will be doing a few significant changes. Including significant changes to the Raid boss fights which are annoying without really being that much fun.

Well, the first DLC has been announced and its a total disaster.

Xbone users get: 1 Raid, 1 Strike, 3 Story Missions, 3 PVP maps and some new gear that can get you to level 32.

PS4 users get an additional strike.

I expect review scores ranging from 2.0 to 5.0 out of 10. The one thing Borderlands did consistently well was DLC. Even the bad DLC was still decent. They totally just cut out a small part of the game and they are packaging it as DLC and its blatantly obvious.

I'll probably wait until new subclasses come down before Ill bother. Im rather enjoying Diablo 3 and my Witch Doctor.

Reddit has like 3000 comments on the DLC since its been announced and they're all pretty negative.

The DLC offers more than Call of Duty does for 20 dollars, but it still seems underwhelming. I a want new planet.

I don't think many video game companies themselves are in it for the money. The money is an obvious nice side effect, but I think most of the companies that make the actual games do it for pride and because they want to make a good game, or to show their ideas to people. The video game distributors though care about absolutely nothing but money. EA, and Activision between them have ruined more games than most of us have even played in our lives.

Bungie and Bioware for example have both made some of the most loved games in gaming history. Both also have/had a huge history of success and no flops. Then they get bought out by a huge distribution company, and both put out games (or game after game after game in Bioware case) that would have embarrassed the shit out of their original teams. Games that were obviously unfinished but pushed out to meet a release date. Stories have come out left and right with games where they were made to change the story because the distribution company wanted changes. Now cutting the game into thirds and selling the pieces as DLC. And it's not like we can boycott EA or Activision, they own literally everything. Just like Hollywood you can't just avoid the big studios that make such shifty movies. They are all that's left.

True, but being anti-consumer isn't going to help your business model. They're basically promoting piracy. Those companies already get their money back and more just off of the original price of the game, they're just trying to squeeze every last cent out of you at that point. I won't even get into the issue of certain games promoting themselves as "early access" as an excuse to sell you an unfinished product. The video games industry and movie industry are pretty different in my opinion.

Completed the RAID for the first time this past weekend. There were 4 of us "virgins", 1 player that had done it once...and one that had done it twice. Took ALOT longer than expected (mainly b/c most of us had no idea what to do). That said, had the best experience playing Destiny doing the RAID.

I usually only log on once a week now, that's on Tuesday when the server resets, play the Nightfall, VoG on normal and hard mode, then I'm done, not much more to accomplish at level 30.

I'm playing about 3-4 times a week. I have a 29 Titan, a 26 Warlock and 26 Hunter so I can switch it up a lot and play 3 daily missions or 3 weekly missions if I really wanted to. It actually doesn't take that long to level a 2nd and 3rd character. It was much harder getting the first character from 20 to 29.

Really the only weapons I want at this point are the Gjjahorn Rocket Launcher, one of the 2 good scout rifles and the Ice Breaker which I really underestimated when it first came out at Xurs shop. I'm not in any rush, though. The Truth is great, Last Word is great, Shadow Price is really good, Pocket Infinity is good, Doctor Nope is somewhat useful.

My personal preference for PVE is: Sunsinger > Defender > Striker > Bladedancer. Crucible its Bladedancer > Striker > Sunsinger > Defender. I still haven't worked my way through Voidwalker and Gunslinger but I figure thats what the DLCs will be for.

The Raid is definitely the best part of the game.

I'm so pissed off that they are only providing 1 additional strike in the $20 update to the game to Xbox one users and 2 to PS4 users. Pretty lame. The game has such a great foundation but I'm getting very close to running out of things to do and was very hopeful that they were going to add a bunch of content with game updates. I'm not sure I'm going to buy the map pack just to get 1 strike that I can play over and over again in the rotation of other strikes. Very disappointing because the game foundation is so good.

I was hoping they would add 4 or so more strikes to the rotation, allow people to match-make for raids and would add some things like being able to talk with people in the game. But alas, it looks like they're more intent on making money than actually improving the game. Many of my fellow xbox friends feel the same way and aren't going to get the update because it doesn't really provide anything.

I'm a level 27, close to 28, have an exotic for both armor and weapon. I've played the strikes and crucible a million times and have played a million bounties. There's nothing left to do and there's nothing to work towards building my character up to. IMO the game is close to played out and dead.

Yeah. Basically the only fun things left to do are the Raid and Nightfall, which is still really tough. They really need more strikes. I don't get why they are focusing on their average PvP system so much.

Yeah, it seems like they really don't understand why people like about their game and what criticisms people have. Or, they're just ignoring that knowing that a good amount of people with buy the $20 upgrade no matter what. Either way, it's really disappointing because the game had potential to be great.
