I haven't shed one tear. I knew it was coming..

All Yankees fans knew it was coming.

Good try though cezero

There were grown men crying at Yanks stadium during a preseason game with the Cubs when Jetes came to the plate.

I extrapolated.

There's a time and place where it's ok for a man to cry, witnessing Derek's last preseason isn't one of those instances.

Lots of men in this world need to grow a pair and toughen up.

You misunderstood.

The preseason game I was talking about where grown men were weeping and creaming themselves over Jeter's appearance was several years ago.

Sorry, I just don't see any humor to this thread. It's pointless and dumb.

I just think this thread is lame, that's all. We all have an opinion, that's what makes forums great.

So, that's like the 4th or 5th time you told us.

"This thread is pointless so I'm going to spend a bunch of time arguing my pointless point. Because it's pointless."

Growing a pair equates to crying because of Jeters last preseason.

Stating my opinion and defending Jete makes you think I'm weak? you're a strange duck let me tell you

Perhaps they're brothers and they received a call about their mother being hit by a train. The possibility exist.

I'll be here all season to make this thread as miserable as humanly possible. :suds:

I don't think you understand, do you? Jeter is striking out like a mutherfucking MACHINE this season. He's doing his best to break top 10 all-time and I'm going to be here too, enjoying every one of them.

No, he is not. ESPN projects 102 K's for Jeter this season.

From 1996-2012, Derek averaged 101 K's per season.

His K's this season are consistent with his career average.

Yeah, but he's sitting every third game. But you already know that, don't you?

If Jetes were playing a full season (155-160 games), he'd be on pace for 113-116 strikeouts.

Okay, let's cut the bullshit.

Are you saying his AB/K is around his career average? We're just IMAGINING these strikeouts, right? Is that what you're trying to tell us, CSD?

I read this, and then your signature. Too funny :laugh3:

140 games played projected for this season, as per ESPN.

And 113-116 strikeouts would be his pace if he were playing a full season (155-160 games).

Exactly. I pulled his player profile with career stats on espn and used my trusty iPhone calculator to check averages. His AB/K ratio this season is on pace with his career stats for 1996-2012.

And 113-116 strikeouts would be his pace if he were playing a full season (155-160 games).

Correct.

Looks that way.

He's currently striking out in 16.3% of his PA's and his career strikeout rate is 14.7%. I would consider that around his career average.
