I agree, outside of Babe Ruth I guess, any guy (Boggs and Clemens) that played in NY and Boston, need to be eliminated from both Mount Rushmores

this team lost like $70 million last year what the hell did they think the new owners were going to do? loria signed deals he knew he would never have to pay out in effort to inflate the product and get more value for a sale.
I get that the contract is insane, especially for a low budget team like the Marlins, but my issue is with Mr Yankee showing up in south Florida and basically giving Stanton to his old team.

there were plenty of complaints after each firesale believe me.....only thing this time was they didnt win a ws before doing it to soften the blowYou do realize Jeter was pretty much out of options, no?
Jeter wanted to deal Stanton to both SF and StL (who submitted offers) but Stanton declined....how is that Jeter's fault that Stanton wanted to go to only to the Dodgers and Yankees, meaning that those two teams had all the leverage (if they didn't give an offer, the likelihood of Stanton being traded reduces significantly).
And you're acting like this is unprecedented that the Marlins would have a firesale - where were your complaints when they traded pretty much the entire '97 World Series team for a bag a peanuts, or when they traded Cabrera?

loria killed this team long ago when he went south into miami. the foreigners down there dont love baseball as much as they thought they would. wouldve been interesting to see what that 75 win team could have done with some pitching.....I like LeBatard but gimme a break
I cant believe the outcry over all of this for a fanbase that hasnt given a shit about that franchise for, umm, Ever?
"How dare you break up our 75 win team"

how many times does this sorry ass franchise have to be sold before people realize it wont work down there?
4 ownership groups in 24 years?
That's embarrassing.
what's more embarrassing is that they've won more WS titles than a bunch of other franchises that actually give a shit. and yet, no one cares about the Marlins.how many times does this sorry ass franchise have to be sold before people realize it wont work down there?

Well he is doing (or at least trying) something right................
