nope def not midseason for a slot CB..............wasnt hilton highly rated? problems in coverage?
Top 5 slot in the league for 2 years running. Had his issues last year but didn’t plague him. He’s worth a contract imo.

He had a rough 2 or 3 game stretch where he was pretty loose in coverage and that's when he got benched for a couple of games, but looking at his snap counts, it's mostly scheme dependent, but he was playing roughly 65% of the DEF snaps. They don't have a better option, but I guess they want to see another season before they commit long term.

I have a feeling that he will get a long term deal, but not if he doesn't sign his tender and play. He doesn't have the clout or leverage to hold out and force their hand....the way he will force their hand is to ball out.

No, they won't likely. They would typically do something before the season starts, but apparently they don't feel the urgency.

The risk obviously is another team with deep cap pockets offering more than PIT can pay.

I'm sure the Hilton camp is waiting on pins and needles to see the details on Kenny Moore's contract with IND...noted to be the highest slot CB deal in the league.

The Hilton camp... aka the Rosenhaus camp.... aka the Douchebag camp

This is great, but as of today I don't think he has signed his tender. He is on record saying he will be at camp so we shall see....that could change under Drew.
My biggest concern is that Drew will tell him to holdout of camp... Even if its just for the first week to put the ball in Kevin's court, I still think it will ignite a fire that neither side wants. If he reports to camp then I think he stands a better chance of being rewarded.

I'm not overly concerned, but a projected starter (or near starter) holding out is not what either side needs coming off LY, but I have a feeling PIT is going to hold firm here until they see whatever it is they're looking for out of him.

Feel bad for him. He deserves better. He made the right move though.

Yep sucks considering he's basically been playing starter snaps, but no leverage.

They're making him earn it, I'm guessing they want to see him healthy and back to his '17 performance level. Either way, he's got to be motivated for a good season and he will get paid.

Appears that an extension for Haden is imminent.

Artie has always looked good in press... But a problem that I routinely see with Artie's camp videos is that they let him play way too aggressively in these 1v1s and not how they would play in real games. This shit here would likely get called for PI if Ben threw it to JuJu.
