I wasn't trying to be funny. Lying just drags your name into the story longer. There is no possible way he accidentally took the 2 substances he took. Come clean and it's over quick

But don't underestimate the hypocrisy of the American people...I can see all those "think of thee children" types, decrying him for a bad role model and comparing him to Hitler and all.

I really don't think the general public cares about peds anymore. It is the baseball writers thst drive the story into the ground. I really don't understand why they aren't legal at this point. If they are so bad for you why aren't players from the 90s dropping dead left and right by now.

But they are still banned substances by the league, even if the general fan doesn't care, so for a player to come right out and said, "Yeah I did it, don't care what the league or my contract says," then that's not a good look for a player.

That's why I thought it was funny when you said you thought it would go over well, I see the exact opposite happening. Sure, the lying and denials make a player look bad, too, but it's really a no-win situation for them, so they should just avoid the drugs altogether until the league drops any bans - for which, I am not holding my breath.

Myth of roids:suds:

Just look at the facts. According to the US government, approximately 500,000 people a year die from nicotine-and alcohol-related diseases. Not more than a small handful (probably less than a dozen) die directly from anabolic steroids. Those who have died from steroids had really abused the stuff for a longtime. In Dr. Wright's book on steroids he mentioned a case where a fellow took ten Anadrol 50 a day for ten years before he got liver cancer and died. That's like someone drinking a couple of bottles of whiskey a day for ten years. You're surprised they didn't die sooner.

The home runs aren't the issue. He benefited in the form of a .383 BABIP, a significant amount of bunt hits, and a league leading amount of stolen bases.

@calsnowskier You don't think Dee Gordon was faster because of his steroid use? In Jose Canseco's book he talked about how much faster he was as a result of the steroids. Steroids aren't just going to affect power...

No, I facepalmed you because you took the HR comment seriously. It was clearly a humorous, sarcastic comment.

Yeah, it was intended to be funny. But, I also took it as someone on twitter trying to negate the benefits steroids had on Dee Gordon. I could be wrong though.

Ken Caminiti and Lyle Alzado would say hi if they could.
