Sadly, this news story will go viral and paint a negative picture that every critic can jump on. Meanwhile, all the other pro athletes who continue to be positive role models and do great work in their communities go largely unnoticed because it doesn't sell.

I don't think there is anything terrible wrong with that. When an athlete does something big, like this or JJ Watt after the hurricane in Houston, it makes news. When I see a story of a player visiting a hospital I turn the page, it's just not that interesting and we see this sort of story all the time.
