Interesting that they say you get a last place schedule if you come in last the previous year in your division and a much tougher schedule in you come in 1st. Now we all know each year is different and that you really just never know what a team will be until after the first quarter of a season... However, we all hold out the hope that when coming in 3rd or 4th in the division we'll get some what of a break in the following year schedule as opposed to the 1st place team.

So this is very telling... that they're aint no breaks in the NFL

I broke down each teams opponent in the division from each week thus far, and the power ranking at that time of their opponent before playing that week. For the first week, being no team had rankings yet, I took the power rankings after their first game and applied it to week 1.

For instance: The Eagles had a power ranking of 9 after they played us in week 1. I applied that number to our game the first week. The Rams were ranked at 18 heading into our game week two. I took all the rankings for each team in our division for each game played and it broke down as such.

On average of power of opponent when played thru 9 games.

. Eagles opponents have had a power ranking average of 17.5.........finished 2nd in division 2016
. Cowboys opponents have had a power ranking average of 14.7......finished 1st in division in 2016
. Giants opponents have had a power ranking average of 13.8.........finished 4th in division in 2016
. Skins opponents have had a power ranking average of 8.8............finished 3rd in division in 2016

Who knows where the Saints will be ranked when we play them in our 10th game... they're already at 9.

Dude... IM not even mad about who we played, or when we played them.

If this team could stay even remotely healthy at this point, I dont think there is a team on our schedule we either shouldnt have been able to beat, or should be able to beat over the next 8 games.

We have a franchise QB, who is carrying the team more often than not. A defense that has improved from shit show, to average and above average at times. If we dont shoot ourselves in the foot this coming off season, we can become one of the prominent teams ON THE FIELD.

And while I aint calling this season done by any stretch, we are building towards something I havent seen since high school.... And yes I like that!!!!

Yep - the schedule like so many other things in the NFL involves a lot of luck. For starters every team in a division plays the exact same schedule save for 2 games every season (the 2 against the in conference divisions they don't play) & the site for most games is pre-slotted based on a rotating schedule.

There is so much parity in the NFL & injuries are such a factor that a team that looks not-so-hot preseason (e.g. Rams) can become a SB contender & vice versa (Giants). This happens every season. This is mainly media fodder & doesn't mean much overall (especially due to the luck factor).

You can't really worry about SOS - just have to play the games to the best of your ability & the game in SEA is proof of that. Also - don't bank on the fact that just because a team like the Eagles has a great season that they will repeat it moving forward. Just ask the Panthers & the Falcons.
