Jahii on here, yet? PGU has an analysis on Rondae Jefferson today. Jahii was saying how over-rated RHJ is. SMH. I'll send him the link when he gets on.

I saw that article and I was gonna post it under the basketball thread for Jahii to read.

From an outsiders perspective, I am really questioning if the dodgers peaked too early? The reds really took it to them and they are definitely the second/third best team in that division! Not trying to start an argument, I am just saying...

The NL is weird. There's not one team that really stands out from the West... I do think the Dodgers and Cardinals are the most complete teams though. I think it's going to be Tigers-Red Sox/ Cardinals-Dodgers as the last 4 standing. Depends on the matchups though of course. ATL, PIT and CIN all lack true aces so that's why I don't have them competing with STL/LAD

It's a valid point. I think that Cinci is tough at home. Right before the Dodger series, the Reds beat StL in 3 of 4. I'm not sure if the Dodgers peaked early or not. They had a rough stretch against the reds, and they lost 2 of 3 against Boston without pitching Kershaw or Greinke. Other than that, they haven't lost a series since mid June. I think it could help them to see that they still need to play. We are looking to beat ATL for homefield advantage throughout the pennant race.

I deserve Josh Wilson for watching this game right now. You all deserve to laugh at me for being a Dback fan.

I also think that some players in the last month are getting hotter, and some are cooling off. Puig, Mark Ellis, and Crawford are cooling off, and Ethier/Uribe, are getting hotter. So I think he is trying to adjust the line-up right now, so that he can move the better players up, and try to jump-start the ones cooling off. Also, Capuano has killed us in the last month or two. There are trying out Volquez to see if he can carry the weight of being the 5th starter. Capuano struggles to win with every start. It puts pressure on the other starters that they can't slip, because Capuano already struggles. Throw in there that Ryu missed a start because of his back, and they are trying to give themselves enough time to get it ironed out, and settle in before October. The bullpen is pretty similar. Jansen and Wilson are pretty solid, and Paco Rodriguez and JP Howell are fairly consistent. But Belisario, League, and Marmol still have to prove themselves. That also still needs to be ironed out in the next month.

So basically, I think Mattingly is trying to make the changes right now, so that he can have his line-up, rotation, and bullpen set up by playoffs. It's going to take some ironing out, and we're going to lose more than we have. But hopefully, if everything can settle in, we can maintain momentum through next month.
