Way better TexMex in San Antonio vs Indy, though

It's funny, when players go for the money, they are called "selfish" and only care about money.

Now, we got a player, who chose winning over money, and we want to laugh at him and call him stupid?

Exactly. I'm sure he knew a title wouldn't be easy or that it was a slam dunk. The Spurs were a title contender. Indy was done. He's coming to the end of his career so he wanted to go for a ring

I must miss the joke. He did was he thought was best for him and it didn't work this year. I hate it for the guy and hopes that he gets a better ending next year.

He's made 89 million in his career, not bad for somebody picked in the late teens. He gave up some money to try and win a ring, nothing wrong with that IMO.

If you are going to give up the money you better win....However, imo it's just dumb because you never know how much money you will need in life, and based on nba players % that go broke it just seems like a bad idea...Each to their own tho

Wow, an athlete took a massive paycut to try and win a title??

He did not break the bank and helped two franchises improve their win totals.

He allowed Indiana to get some younger assets and refresh the roster after asking management what their direction was for the future.

He took a secondary role to help build a winner in Texas.

He should have took all the money, played for a mediocre Indiana, and hinder their long term development, demand a starting position, and miss the playoffs.

What a dick......

How dare he voluntarily play for less money.

If I was a NBA player the Spurs would be a team I'd go to even if it meant taking less money.

Clearly West knows much more about his financial situation than you do. I'm guessing he is doing just fine considering his willingness to take such a pay cut.

Maybe he can become a Yankees, Cavs, Lakers fan. They will get a ring for him.

This has nothing to do with anything...but man, its crazy how the Pacers would be serious contenders in the East had they just kept all of that team from a couple years ago together.

You probably thought Antoine walker and Iverson were doing just fine as well...They had 100M dollars and now look at them....

60% of NBA players end up broke by 40...75% by 50....So you have almost an 8/10 chance of ending up broke and think it's a good idea to turn down 11 million dollars lol....Even winning a ring isn't worth going broke, go check ebay for how many old pros are selling their shiny nba ring...I am dropping knowledge in here...Accept it and move on

He would have made it just as far in the playoffs on the pacers, and had an extra 11 mill in his pocket
