It had to have been significant to suspend him from the Rose Bowl. The kids entire family are ex Spartan Players. It happens at every program it's just a shame, if the SPartans loose the Rose Bowl in a tight game he will be playing the what if game the rest of his life.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say whatever the kid did, will not be worth it.

He helps bring the team to the promised land for the first time in 26 years, did something stupid, and has to sit at home and watch his friends and "family" play in the biggest game of most of their lives.

I would think most coaches would go out of their way to look out for a guy that has put so much work into the program.

Going forward is MB going to remain, I think he is a junior.

Max is a senior and will be missing his last game as a Spartan.

minor-in-possession-of-alcohol...the ONLY other of the "multiple (two!) criminal offenses" he was charged with (eluding police) was dropped. Please don't play the 'mountain/molehill' game here.

:L
the prosecutor could have prosecuted Max for at least 6 crimes he committed that night (see below), but agreed to a plea bargain with Max's attorney where Max would pled guilty to just one and serve 9 months criminal probation, plus alcohol awareness meetings, MADD meetings, not to mention court and attorney fees and any fines he had to pay. After all, Max had already been jailed.

1) Criminal possession of an identification document (Colorado R.S. 18-5-903.5. "A person commits criminal possession of an identification document if the person knowingly has in his or her possession or under his or her control another person's actual driver's license, actual government-issued identification card")

2) Using false identification (Aspen Municipal Code Sec. 15.04.320 -- "It shall be unlawful for any person to offer, use or attempt to offer or use any means, manner, type or kind of paper, document, card, license or any other evidence of the identification of such person for the purpose of making sales or purchase of commodities, cashing checks, making other monetary transactions, to gain admission to any place or for any other purpose whatsoever where such means, manner, type or kind of identification offered or used or which is attempted to be offered or used, is false, fraudulent or incorrect in any manner or way or which misrepresents said person so offering")

3) Illegal possession or consumption of alcohol by an underage person (Colorado R.S. 18-13-122 -- "a person under twenty-one years of age who possesses or consumes alcohol anywhere in the state of Colorado")

4) Disorderly conduct (Aspen Municipal Code Sec. 15.04.300 -- "Abuses or threatens another...Disturbs or tends to disturb the peace of others by violent, tumultuous, offensive or obstreperous conduct or by loud or unusual noises...Threatens, quarrels, challenges to fight or fights with another"

5) Assault and Battery (C.R.S. 18-3-202, etc and Aspen Municipal Code 15.04.130)

6) Resisting an officer (Aspen Municipal Code Sec. 15.04.120. -- "It shall be unlawful for any person in the City to resist any police officer")

likely a few others as well (for ex, using a fake ID to purchase alcohol or enter a bar is likely a crime in Colorado as well)

again, being that Max didn't get suspended a single game for any of this, it'll be interesting to see what he did to get himself suspended for the Rose Bowl

yes...criminally underage in Aspen, Colorado during a ski trip...had (gasp) a beer.

I'd not doubt the kid's on suicide watch right now. What a fucking rotten ass shame. Totally blows.

:lame:

He's an academic All-American. I'd guess DUI or drugs.
Well I tried to give him the benefit of doubt. Hate when these kids make bad decisions.

it's ESPN's fault

LOL; we needed that...Seems as the SEC gets blamed for being the only conference that has some bad boys....thanks to the Big 10, we are now off the skyline.
