Danny Manning

I've been a Carolina fan since I was 12. So I've seen more ACC than most people in this area. Obviously an OU fan so I've seen a lot of Manning. He had one good season and he's lived off of that for the last 30 years. I thought it was a bad hire from the beginning.

I remember when Roy Williams practically owned your conference when he coached at Kansas BUT I also remember when some of your OU teams didn't make it easy on him with some very good talent.

Yeah, I just don't see how you can build a successful CBB program with that many transfers. It's pretty hard. You're always going to have guys transfer for lack of PT, but having 9 transfers over a short period of time can be death for a head coach.

Coach K at Duke and Coach Cal at Kentucky have lost a few players to transfer because of the lack of playing time but since they both send so many one and done players to the NBA they just reload for the next season and do it all over again.

I hear you man! For some reason I have always liked Roy Williams but I certainly can't cheer for him now since UNC is our biggest rival.

With that said I am a big time ACC fan with the exception of UNC.

Roy has always been a class act. One of my cousins was a high school basketball coach and met him on several occasions. He said Roy was a great person and extremely smart.
But every time I see him he makes me think of Huckleberry Hound.

Deacs looking really bad against Richmond right now

buyout is pretty big (but can't be anywhere near as bad @ the Goodman report made it out to be, there's just no way), but i don't see how you keep Danny on for another year

Mooney is probably a goner after this year. They're an awful team.

Wake is even worse. DM needs to go and Wellman needs a forced retirement

Mooney lost his best player and still managed to beat Wake. He’s not a bad coach considering what he’s done at Richmond. VCU’s rise has hurt recruiting at Richmond.

that says a lot more about Wake and Manning than it does about Richmond. UR should be a solid A-10 team on average, i think they have fallen short of that in the past five years. Robins Center is a pretty nice arena.

Thanks. With the trouble over at Rivals you might see a lot more of us. Trouble seemed to be mainly on the CFB board. The only ACCCG game I’ve been to was Wake vs UNC. Y’all won and I couldn’t have been happier.

a week ago, Goodman reported that if Wake were to fire Manning after this season, DM would be guaranteed $18 million from the school

apparently that number is not only slightly off, but it is way off. i've heard from reliable people inside the program that the number is closer to $6 million, which would guarantee that this is going to be Manning's last year @ Wake

not sure how your report can be off by $12 million, but then again, college basketball media can be a real trainwreck at times

Goodman should have known better, b/c his report would have implied that DM is one of the most well paid coaches in the country (around #15, #16)

Man, I'm sorry to hear that because I'm an ACC fan except for the Tar Heels!

a well connected poster on OGBoards says that Manning is done. There is no way he comes back next year.

always hoped DM would do well here, b/c he is a good man and is a legit name in this sport, but he just isn't a good head coach @ this level.

i'll wish him all the success in the world at his next stop.
