I'd just rather take a shot at the unknown and maybe hit it out of the park, rather than hire someone who been pretty average at the P5 level. Even that S16 run, was more of them playing well in the tournament than actually having a really good year.

Also, I would agree he took over a dumpster fire in Ann Arbor, but I still think he underachieved there. He was always able to get talent, but never get them to the tournament. His overall record at Michigan is much better than Manning's at Wake, but the B1G was really down most of his tenure there.

Probably for the best for Wake. The more I think about it the more I think Forbes is the guy. Has assistant coaching experience at the P5 level, was able to recruit really well, did a great job at etsu. He'll be able to pull transfers to help build the roster in the next couple seasons. Could have them in the dance in year 3.

I like Forbes a lot and your reasoning is exactly why. P6 coaching experience, he's been around the block for a while now and he's had great success at ETSU.

Goodman, Daniels and Wake247 are saying Forbes or Miller. The only reliable insider on OGBoards is saying Matta. This thing is going right down to the finish line. I'm thinking it's going to be Forbes.

That's what I saw. Now this I can see Manning taking Wake to court over. But without knowing specifics it's just speculation at this point.

fwiw, Wake fired Manning with cause

i think they're going to try to argue that DM didn't live up to moral expectations b/c

-he hired a dude that was convicted of 3rd degree assault
-Wake's APR has gotten so bad that they're only a few points away from being subject to a post-season ban

Ahh. That certainly makes sense then to fire him with cause. With that said, I still think DM may take it to court. Kind of like Ollie did with UConn.

Yeah I think so too. Comes at a good time with Roy, K and Boeheim all being over 70 when next season starts. They could all be retired by the time he starts year 4/5.

now that the NCAA has backed off of their "everyone plays next season" stance, really makes zero sense for Sarr to transfer to another school

this is why him not being on track to graduate was huge. Unless the NCAA decides to set a new precedent, Sarr would have to sit out next year.

Sarr is going to make money on the next level, whether its the NBA or in Europe, so it makes zero sense to transfer and sit out a year. From a financial perspective, he should return to Wake or declare his intent for a professional career.
