This is a terrible comparison. Everyone knows Dalton is a much faster runner.

At some point, the comparisons have to be made. Dalton's first 6 years: 142 Touchdowns
Brady's first 6 years: 118 Touchdowns

The time is ripe for "the discussion" to begin. Greatness is unfolding on a small market team, a legend is in the making. Don't automatically be closed to this discussion due to Brady's agreed greatness. Just come in to the discussion with an open mind.

I hope you were drunk when you posted this. TB's first 6 years: 58-20 & 12-2 in the playoffs. AD: 56-35-2 & 0-4 in the playoffs. Maybe next you could say Dalton's better than Brady because he was a 2nd round pick & Brady wasn't.

Yes the next Jim Brady I think a Bengals fan might shoot him if he can't win 1 playoff game I like the way you use a year Brady threw 3 passes in your equation and still your no#s are off. BTW it's Tues so know Monday posts

The game also changed quite a bit from 2001 when Brady came in, versus 2011 when Dalton did. Passing stats started to really get inflated right around when Dalton came in the league. That was the year Brees, Stafford and Manning all threw for around 5,000 yards.

Brady threw for over 5200 that season and was the only non dome QB that year to do so. Manning had his record year in 2013.

Ah, gotch. I got the timeline a little mixed up there.

By contrast Russell Wilson has 8, and should have had 9.

Corrected to 8 wins.

How should he have 9?

I'm assuming you're talking about the Super Bowl they lost to NE, but it's probably worth pointing out that they were only in that game because they litterally were handed a miracle in the NFCCG vs Green Bay two weeks prior. So, if we're playing that "shoulda woulda" game, Seattle should have never even made it back to a second Super Bowl.

AJ McCarron showed more heart in that Steelers playoff game than all of Dalton's playoff appearances combined. We wouldn't had attempted to comeback at all if Dalton was in that game. That's just the honest truth.

That run by McCarron as the starter when Dalton went down really made me respect him, and I've been holding out hope that the Bears would actually trade for him. It looks like Cinci wants to keep him though, and I don't blame them.

Excellent post. It's not a coincidence tons of old rookie records got broken. And then shortly after that by subsequent draft classes.
