I am done with the Dalton bandwagon. Guy needs to fcking go. If Marvin and Hue don't see it they have to go too. Colt McCoy would be a better option at this point. How many prime time games does this guy need to blow until they get it.

We're stuck with him, unfortunately.

I read something about Dalton the other day (forgot where but don't want to steal it as my own) that I thought was a great point. It's not that Dalton's ceiling is low it's just that his floor is incredibly low.

If he played all of his games at the average but limited level, but never had the complete disasters he throws in there every now and then you could probably live with him. In that case, he'd probably not be a lot different than a Brad Johnson type player. You're probably not winning the championship unless everything breaks right, but you're also not scratching your head after seeing something historically bad like the other night or his playoff losses. Ultimately, if Dalton's losses were less appalling, it would probably be easier for the Bengals to justify keeping him. But this is year 4..... And his loss the other night looked like an undrafted FA rookie playing a Super Bowl contender. It was horrendous.

Yeah. He sucks.

Being a fan of this damn team is exhausting.

Unfortunately you know how this plays out..... We keep Dalton for the next 2 years.... We bottom out.... We draft a new quarterback of the future, but this quarterback is now playing behind two new tackles that weren't drafted in the top rounds because we were busy wasting picks on gunners.

I'm not even sure it's exhausting anymore. I think I've sort of given up on the idea that we'll ever get further than making the playoffs.... And even that would be an accomplishment this year or next. Teams spend millions to make good decisions and stay on top.... We lucked out on a few drafts and basically maxed out on dumb luck. It's not that our organization all of a sudden got smart - They just got lucky. But lucky can only get you so far. And that's about where we are now.

At least the Reds are good.

I mean, at least the Bearcats are good.

Ummm.... High school football is pretty good, right?

when you draft to fill needs, you're going to fall apart.

especially on a team that doesn't trust rookies.

I thought everyone said we were good at drafting?

I'm all aboard the J.T. Barrett train. This kid is a freak.

Tank for J.T.

we've done ok in recent years.

of course, the really good players will sit on the bench for 2 years, play here for 2, and then finish out their career somewhere else.

Dilfer knows football and is great on TV. But this is exhibit A on why to tune out all media perception on the quality of a draft...
