I'd say it's fair to say he's right around 14th/15th right now, sure. That's fine. At the end of the day, this whole conversation is about him being paid like a top 5/top 10 player, which he just isn't.

Yup....pretty much.

The Cowboys should offer Dak a similar type of contract that was given to Jimmy Garoppolo. They can probably offer him the same amount of money as well. $27.5 mil per year. I think that much is overpaying but in all fairness all QB's get overpaid. This is a deal that will benefit both the team and players. The Cowboys are going to have insane cap money next season.....but.......when free agency starts they will only have 34 players under contract.

A deal like Garoppolo will give the Cowboys an out after a couple years if he does not perform. If he does perform he still has a long term deal and will have a good base salary.

This sums it up perfectly. Well put.

I think Chris Canty sums this up well..... He thinks the $25-$30 mil range. I think $30 mil is way too much.... I think the Garoppolo deal is the way to go.

But...... Skip Bayless is truly a moron...... He thinks Dak is better than Russell Wilson....and he deserves Russell Wilson money.....ROTFLMAO

So now you think top 5 is how he should be paid, because Garoppollo's $27.5M is top 5? You are all over the place. Good to see you guys are off your $22M amounts at least. Baby steps I guess

No. Just saw an article yesterday about his back. Plus I’ve never seen anything about him not being ready for this year. Where did you hear that?
Backs can be a bitch... I know mine is
Wentz himself said he doesn't know if he will be ready

and he is being smart about it. The biggest mistake he and the Eagles made last year was playing without him being 100%. His talent is unquestionable but thankfully his stupidity is wearing off. Some of these guys write checks their egos can't cash.

Agree.

I don't think it's that he ever really feared for Foles taking his job, but I think watching Foles come off a SB win and sitting on the sidelines and seeing Foles still behind him last year waiting for a chance to play, played a role even if very small in him rushing back - he is only human and even though a cocky bastard still young and unsure of his place. Now he knows he is beyond a doubt the man in Philly and I think it is a little easier for him to see the big picture. All of the above is obviously based on no facts and 100% my opinion/guess

My bad, didn't realize it was that high. I had the per year amount off. $27.5 is too high.

I think it is high as well......but made sure I said that in my post....I mentioned that it would be overpaying him. That would be the cost of being able to get out of the deal and cutting him after 2 years if he did not perform.

This has been an interesting post....Dak will get his contract probably between $27-30 million and he deserves this contract...draft experts agree you should wait 3 years before grading a player drafted, if we look from that point of view Dak is indeed better then Wentz, his 3 year body of work surpasses Wentz, now does this mean he is more talented, no....Wentz has better measurables then Dak, but needs to stay healthy and prove this on the field, and be a leader for his team, which so far he hasn't. Dallas is in better position as they know what they are getting with Dak, a QB who could end up being in the 8-12 range in NFL, but Philly doesn't know what they have yet, and may invest upward of $35 million in a QB that can't stay healthy.

Eagles' Wentz says stress fracture is still healing

It appears it is still healing but he should be able to participate in OTA's. It does not look like he is fully cleared though.

You hit on the key point. A deal they can get out of after a couple of years if they like. Worth upping the yearly average for fewer years guaranteed. He going to get between 28 to 30 million.

Oooh @dbldwn711 said it was all a fake injury so we can start Foles. Why are they still faking this injury now that Foles is gone?

Well double douche is not someone in high regard. Do like I did and put that clown on ignore.

Hahaha

So much for ignore. Besides... you’re missing out on a free education.

Because he doesn’t want to participate in voluntary OTAs

So the team is letting him sit out even though they know he’s faking. You’re a clown dude. Fake injury, fake MRI, fake injury in the offseason, fake rehab. Sounds reasonable DblDown
