Yeah that was a little Cam-esque. I've been trying to find a pic of it. But, it was his first NFL game/victory, fresh out of college, and they weren't given much of a chance at all...let him gloat a little. He won't have much more to puff up about this season if it goes as most of us suspect.

If he makes a habit out of it...? Bleh.

I see your point and agree, but my problem was not the celebrating, but actually thinking he was the reason for the victory.

Everybody should be able to celebrate a win because you never know when they could become scarce.

So you think that Eli was the most important player in winning their 2 SB's?

In the first against NE, you can't argue he chucked up a Hail Mary and Tyree made a great catch. The Giant D gets no credit for that game, and they were the ones that shut down Brady and the high-octane offense. Eli MVP. Yeah...right.

In the second game against NE, Eli had a tough time against a Pats D that was one of the worst in the league. The Pats also played with Gronk acting merely as a decoy because he was hurt. Admittedly, the throw to Mannigham was a good one, but the catch by Manningham was spectacular. He caught that ball along the sideline with one man in tight coverage, and another ready to wallop him. Eli MVP.

The problem is that the award has to be given to somebody, and in a game where no one person really stood out, give it to the QB.

he outplayed Brady in both, more so in second game

who gives a shit who the MVP is, Brady has one he didnt deserve too

I would hope so, as the Pats lost both games, but they weren't the only guys playing. I just didn't think Eli deserved either MVP.

I didn't watch a second of the Jets game. I also didn't think the Pats (or Kraft's) celebration was excessive. Just Hammer trying to stir the shit.

Of course you don't. You're a Patriots fan!

Any celebration, much less Kraft pretending like they just won the SB, is excessive for that win. You do like Brady and Belichick and act the right way. Kraft looked silly and plenty of people noticed it but as the heart and soul of the game of football, it's not cool to mention it.

^ not familiar with the term "any given Sunday".

Post a gif of the Kraft celebration. I'll reevaluate my position.

This = true. That's why I think it was Cam Newton-worthy, it's more "look at me" rather than, "wow, Joe, we won the game, let's chest-bump!"

Cam scores a late TD in a game the Panthers lose, and he's pulling his Superman/shirt pull.

Just a general baseball f.y.i.

Once again, baseball will not be on the Olympics docket when the games go to Japan in 2020.
Tokyo's winning bid was announced on Saturday, and despite the fact that some thought baseball would be reinstated because of the sport's popularity in the host country, the International Olympic Committee on Sunday chose to reinstate wrestling for 2020 over baseball/softball and squash.
Baseball and softball were eliminated from the Olympics in 2005, effective at the '12 games in London.
"While we are obviously disappointed with the decision of the International Olympic Committee to not move forward with baseball and softball for inclusion on the Olympic program in 2020, we continue to believe the combined efforts of baseball and softball provide a great platform for international competition and we look forward to continuing our joint efforts of growing baseball and softball worldwide," said USA Baseball executive director and CEO Paul Seiler. "USA Baseball will continue to promote baseball and softball both internationally and domestically through our various initiatives, and we look forward to the opportunity to return to the Olympic program in the future. In the meantime, we want to thank our partners and fans for their support of our joint efforts."
Wrestling received 49 votes, baseball/softball 24 and squash 22.

Well, it's not just a term. It is also a title for a below average football movie.

I just did an image search for "robert kraft celebration" and not surprisingly, the first one that came up was him with a young woman.

Who are the people that actually vote on this stuff?

Baseball is popular in North and South America, Asia, and the Caribbean. Is it because the French don't like it?

Damn, I was really hoping for squash to make it in the games

The International Olympic committee. And, they gave no reason for their vote.

He did chuck up a prayer, and it was caught. On the 24 yard line. He still had to throw the eventual game winner to Burress. That one was caught too.

The throw to Manningham was a beauty. Right on his fingertips from 38 yards. Great catch, to be sure, but also placed perfectly where only Manningham could catch it. And again, he still had to throw for 3 more first downs as the minutes ticked away.

Maybe Eli shouldn't have been the MVP of the first SB. He assuredly should have in the 2nd one.

If that is in fact Maria Menounos in that pic, then I will and can happily give her both YOUNG (35) and HOT.

But, that is pretty easy for me, being OLD and NOT.......

She is attractive, but that whole Boston homer thing is such a turn-off.

A few hours in now, I am kind of surprised there is no mention yet of the guy who took the drunken header at the 49er game this weekend, killing himself.

Did that not make national news, or, as this was football, is it just "oh well, another one"?
