The celebration thing happens all the time. In baseball, regardless of the prior score, if the home team ends up winning in a walkoff in the bottom of the 9th, they always celebrate more than had they just shut down the visiting team when they had a lead. It's just the way it is. Last second scores to give you a lead = celebration.

I didn't realize the Jets played a trilling game. If I had known they were trilling, I would not have said anything. Trilling is indeed impressive.

You'll never hear the "running up the score" argument from me. That's a concept I've never understood in football especially. Since when do you ever ask the opponent if you're allowed to score or not?

I don't understand the concept ever, in any sport. Don't want to get trounced? Get/play better! Tell your owner to spend some of that $$ he is sitting on, get better players, and do better next time.

Penn State Win!!!!!!

Bills looked better than expected even though a win would have been great.

In Isolation, a Close game is going to be more exiting than a Blowout. Just saying their is a difference between beating a bad team, and a team that is your level or above.

Cuban infielder Alexander Guerrero has been cleared to sign with Major League Teams by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN reported over the weekend ([ame=""]Twitter link[/ame]). Dionisio Soldevila of ESPN Deportes agrees, adding that an official signing could come at any minute ([ame=""]also via Twitter[/ame]).
Guerrero has been most heavily connected to the Dodgers, though initial reports that the two sides had agreed to a seven-year pact were premature. The 26-year-old has also been connected to the Twins and Braves over the past six weeks. In his tweet above, however, Wolfson doubts that the Twins will be the team to ultimately sign Guerrero. [ame=""]Soldevila adds[/ame], in a separate tweet, that the Dodgers are still the favorite.
As Ben Badler of Baseball America pointed out in a subscription-only scouting report in early August, interested parties likely view Guerrero as an offensive-oriented second baseman. Questions about his range and first-step quickness will likely prevent him from sticking at shortstop in the Majors, according to Badler, who added that raw right-handed power was Guerrero's best tool.

Okay BigD. Assume you're 7th inning or later - what is the maximum number of runs you can be up for it still be okay to steal?

This weekends sox-yankees games should throw that unwritten rule out the window. steal whenever.

Take week 1 of the NFL with a grain of salt. The starters barely play in the pre-season, and it sometimes takes a game or two to hit your stride.

Bills started 5-0 a few years back, and I think they won 1 more game the rest of the season. As a Steelers fan, I would take a squeaked out win over a bad team rather than losing to one. 1-0 is 1-0, and much better than 0-1, and I hate the Patriots.

Didn't the O's win in a walk off against the ChiSox this weekend? Extras maybe? I didn't see it, but I suspect there was plenty of celebrating going on.

For me as an individual, and going along with my original post on the matter, I think it is fine to keep scoring, keep stealing, etc, despite the score.

HOWEVER, as there are still far too many baseball people that subscribe to unwritten rules like this, if I were a manager, I would treat the situation VERY different, in that I would not want my players to get hurt or killed over running up a score in a game.

So, personal feelings go one way, and, if put in the actual postion to act, I would sadly think it best to go along with the unwritten rules, such as they are.
