The Broncos continued their roster churn today by acquiring these players via waivers according to a league source.
*WR Diontae Spencer, 27: A former player in the Canadian Football League, Spencer has not appeared in a regular season game. For Pittsburgh in the preseason, he averaged 14.7 yards on seven punt returns. He could replace River Cracraft as the punt returner/sixth receiver.
*TE Andrew Beck, 23: An undrafted rookie from Texas, Beck was in New England’s camp before getting waived on Saturday. At a listed 255 pounds, he also played some fullback for the Longhorns. That will come in handy for the Broncos, who waived rookie fullback George Aston on Saturday. Starter Andy Janovich (pectoral) is currently sidelined.
*C Corey Levin, 25: A sixth-round pick by Tennessee in 2017, he started one game for the Titans last year. Austin Schlottmann was the back-up center on the initial 53-man roster.
*QB Brandon Allen, 26: A sixth-round pick by Jacksonville in 2016, he has appeared in no regular-season games. He was waived by the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday, a week after playing most of the game against the Broncos. As of now, Allen will slide into the No. 2 spot behind Joe Flacco.
The Broncos’ four waiver claims match general manager John Elway’s total from 2011-18 for waiver additions on the day after the initial 53-man roster was announced.
None of the Broncos players waived on Saturday were claimed by another team.
Next up today is signing a 10-member practice squad. Per sources, the Broncos are signing quarterback Brett Rypien, outside linebacker Ahmad Gooden and running back Khalfani Muhammad, all of whom were waived by the team on Saturday.
