No team in NBA history has ever had 2 players do that in the same season!

Can they become better than Jordan-Pippen?

Offensively, as a duo, yes it's possible.

Defensively, LOL NO.

Overall, still prob LOL NO. But maybe just regular no.

Curry needs to play a little better in the Finals too...his last 2 performances have been less than spectacular considering his status in many peoples eyes

are you sure that is a good thing?

Nope you're right it's probably not. Scoring at a high volume at extremely high efficiency is probably terrible.

i meant 2 guys scoring over half your points coming off an offense that was so spectacular for its balance and unpredictability. maybe thats how they want to do it going forward though.

While I don't think Curry elevated his game, I don't think he necessarily played sub-par. He could stand to play better though. In the 2015 Finals, Klay struggled really badly from the field, which costs Curry tons of assists. In 2016, same with HB. His scoring was similar, but with the way the Cavs played him, doubling him high, he made the right play most of the time.

It's like Lebron got blamed for making the right decision, the right pass, to the right guy, who didn't make the right play. It was never Lebron's fault, IMO, for his finals losses. More often than not he played the way he should have. He could have been more aggressive, but their losses weren't on him.

Well I think it's a bit different in context because Steph and Durant are staggered after starting the game together. Both get a chance to be a focal point of the offense, where the majority of their looks come from. The offensive unpredictability is still there, because teams need to sell out to defend these guys.

No because both dont play great D. Jordan and Pippen played Defense and offense.

Just a side note this opens up the MVP race for LBJ to run away with it. Burry and KD wont win it because they will split votes.

35 for Curry, 30 for Durant tonight
Thompson and Green cant be happy they are getting pushed out on offense. Before KD green and Thompson would be the #2 guy on the floor any given night. It looks like it will be KD and Curry.

Like I said before no one is beating this team unless GS does something stupid and trades Klay or Green. They do need to improve their bench and maybe pick up a rebounder

Curry & even KD to an extent have made the extra pass on many occasions to get Klay involved. He just hasn't been knocking down shots to the same degree he has in season's past.

Green realizes how he is most effective on the court- and scoring isn't at the top of that list. His defense & rebounding are needed FIRST and when he's open then his scoring.

Each of them knowing their strengths is what makes them function like a well oiled machine- and hard to beat. Sharing the ball was how Kerr was able to get them over the hump, and it worked prior to KD joining the team. None of them are in the locker room after games counting their shots.

Klay is down 4pts a game this year and up 1 turnover more a game.
Green is down 4pts a game this year.

Its a change to both. Like you said both FG% are down also this year. U would think it would go up because they would get more open shots with KD getting doubled team some.

Klay is taking only taking one less shot per game this year. 17.3 attempts per game last year, 16.3 attempts this year. Draymond dropped from 10.1 attempts per game last year to 9.4 attempts per game this year. Not huge differences.

And Klays points stat this season are a direct reflection of his inability to shoot as efficient as he has in the past. His TO stats are also his own doings. Neither have anything to do with KD joining the team & I struggle to see how you think they're related.

KD took HB's spot in the starting line-up. The difference this season is now the defense has to stay honest because KD is a much more efficient scorer. I think Klay was getting more shots when HB was in that line-up because he was the more efficient scorer.

Thompson's shot attempts are down, 1 shot per game from last year (17.3 last year, 16.3 this year). The main difference just so far is that Klay isn't knocking his shots down. He's had tons of wide open looks that he's just not making. Maybe he's too open???

Either way, Klay's ppg is not an indicator of him not being able to still get shots up, it's about making them. He's also passing up some shots too because of hesitancy as he's struggling to make wide open shots.

Alternately, Steph Curry's shots per game has reduced from 20.2 last year to 17.9 this year. Durant's shots per game has fallen from 18.2 to 17.1 per game. Lastly, Draymond Green's shots have fallen from 10.1 per game, to 9.4 per game.

Too much is being made out of Klay's struggles from a shot perspective. He's getting nearly the same amount of shots as last year, he's just not making them at a high clip. Also to say Draymond is unhappy, well his shots per game has gone down the least of any of the big 4.
