I think ESPN is incorrect b/c it still has McGee on the active 40 when he's on the 15 day IL.

Roster resource now has 40.

Being on the 15 does not remove you from the 40. You need to go to the 60 to not count towards the 40.

I don't even know where you are looking for the 40 man roster on ESPN. I just went to the team page and clicked on the "Roster" link. They only list the active roster and are missing about 4 pitchers from that list!

Oh yeah, they don't update regularly. @calsnowskier and I have had that discussion on other threads about that.

Not sure why they hang onto Marte. His numbers suggest he could easily pass through waivers. Heck, they picked him up as a minor league free agent prior to 2021 and his numbers did not suggest he was worth a 40 man roster spot. He continued to pitch poorly both at AAA and the big leagues this year. I don't know why another team would suddenly want to claim him.

with the customary acknowledgement that i only know about 1% of what the org knows, I would agree that Marte or Padlo would be better DFAs options. Luke plays all positions and his bat seemed at least adequate.
