Lumber tested positive for COVID, is symptomatic.
JC tested negative, has symptoms.

I'd imagine both go on COVID IL

Good question on Vosler over Estrada. Brebbia was never outrighted, Menez has. However, Menez is still at AAA. He lurks.

Practice squad? I assume you mean taxi squad…

My understanding is that the existence of the taxi squad is strictly for Covid purposes. It is a kind of bubble to the MLB team for call ups. Cant say I fully understand it myself, though. I do know that for any player to move from the taxi squad to the active roster, a transaction is required and these moves are subject to any of those restrictions (10-day cooling period, for example). As far as I am aware, players on the taxi squad do not receive MLB time or pay. I believe they are still considered on their minor league roster.

I am suggesting that on Sept 1 (tomorrow) the rosters expand to 40. Any player added to the “active” roster accrues mlb time and receives a MLB paycheck. Movement between the “active“ roster and the “game“ roster, however, would NOT require a transaction. Moving from the “active” roster to the “game” roster would simply be shuffling. I believe the NBA uses this roster management mechanic to cut the 15-man roster to the 12-man game roster.

The Giants have 4 players on the IL (not counting 60 day) and rosters only expand by 2. Additionally, Jose Quintana just got claimed off waivers so they have to find room for him.
Knowing FZ, he will probably keep a couple of players on rotation through the IL and both Brebbia and Vosler will likely get sent back down. That means no Baragar, Bart, Estrada or Duggar again this year, unless the injuries mount more than the 2 player carousel that FZ is doing.

Oh yeah, its September, when the rosters expand . . . from 26 to 28 players. Cueto is on the IL so 3 guys got called up today - Baragar, Brebbia (how about Castro, FZ?) and Estrada.
Apparently, Solano is still not feeling well and is stuck in New York but is getting better. Both he and Wood look to be out a bit.
