I'd think Slater goes down for Barrells, but I don't know that I'd activate DickDick.

The fact that the Giants are even doing a rehab assignment for Dickerson is very telling. Who sends a guy who has been on the IL for a week on rehab? Even Solano suggests that the Giants don't see a need to activate him either. They are happy with the guys on the roster currently and don't really see a fit for either guy (in my interpretation). It wouldn't be too surprising to me if Dickerson gets dfa'd when they cannot stretch out the rehab assignment any longer. Some other teams have done the same thing to players this past month.

Dick has an option. No need to DFA him.

Though I think he is essentially done with us, so a DFA wouldn’t be the worst thing.

But they'll have to dfa someone when both Wood and Solano are activated. Could be Jackson, though.

McGee to the IL with an oblique strain, Jackson back. Solano back, Estrada optioned.

Alex Wood will start on Saturday. Johnny Cueto might throw a live batting practice on the 27th or 28th, which would at least leave open the slight possibility he could pitch the final weekend of the season in a short stint.

Adios JJ

I didn't know Jackson was sent down for Long yesterday. Hope McGee only spends the minimum on the IL. I'd want him to be ready for the postseason.

I don't get why Long and Jackson over Baragar. The latter has been much better than the other two at the big league level.

Chadwick Tromp was claimed off waivers by the Braves. Also, Reyes Moronta was outrighted to AAA after clearing waivers. He’s no longer on the 40-man.

Wow. That sucks that Moronta has fallen so far. Understandable, but sad. He had long-term all-star level closer written all over him.

I guess that means either Chatwood or Beede will be activated from the COVID IL soon.
