I only think he does that if the Giants essentially show him the door. All things equal, I think he wants to retire as a Giant.Or go play for ATL for a year or so

more like 6/200 I'm thinking...Boras after all.7/200?
that gets uncomfortable, but you may be right. That would bring him through his age 36 season, so that isn’t too outrageous.
Looks like it got him TWO extra weeks. That said, he just bought himself another week or so on the big club. It just got harder to send him down for his bad performances.
Gotta think that is the end of the road for Beede. He is now out of options, so he will have be on the opening day roster next year, or be on the DL (again). Not certain he even makes it to spring training.Chatwood added; JJ sent down. Beede to the 60 day IL.
Oh yeah, Chatwood's up.Chatwood added; JJ sent down. Beede to the 60 day IL.
Estrada makes the most sense but if Posey is going to be out for a couple more days, they'll want to have another catcher on the roster. Too bad Bart is injured right now. From Kerry Crowley:
Brandon Belt will go on the bereavement list today, but the Giants are still deciding whether to activate Chadwick Tromp or Thairo Estrada.
who died?From Kerry Crowley:

His grandmother.who died?
Makes room on the 40 for Solano. I assume, he, Longoria and Estrada will the September call ups when roster expand to 29.Giants moves: Brandon Belt comes off bereavement list, Anthony DeSclafani reinstated from injured list. Thairo Estrada optioned to Triple-A Sacramento. Tyler Chatwood designated for assignment.
Longo likely to be activated tomorrow. Solano on Thurs. Estrada will certainly be called up. I'm wondering who the other will be.Makes room on the 40 for Solano. I assume, he, Longoria and Estrada will the September call ups when roster expand to 29.
Weird, I thought I read somewhere that it was 29. September isn't what it used to be. Lots of guys who deserves call ups won't be getting them.Rosters will expand to 28. Not 29.
I think opening the rosters to 40 was crazy. But 28 is kinda weird as well.Weird, I thought I read somewhere that it was 29. September isn't what it used to be. Lots of guys who deserves call ups won't be getting them.
I think the solution is around 34. 40 was dumb and made for a lot of (Bochy) 4 hour games in September. 28 is too few. They did add a taxi squad this year, which is essentially what you're talking about, so that gives us six more guys who can theoretically be available any given day.I think opening the rosters to 40 was crazy. How about opening the “roster” to 40, but only 28 can be active for any given game? You could deactivate your SPs every game to allow a deeper bench, pay the kids a MLB pay check and give them the experience of being in the clubhouse at the same time.
The taxi squad allows the player to hang out, but you can’t quickly interchange the players on a game-by-game basis. That’s what I am calling for here.I think the solution is around 34. 40 was dumb and made for a lot of (Bochy) 4 hour games in September. 28 is too few.
