Why, though? Why not call him up the other day instead of Brebbia?

Moves like this make me wish I were a fly on the wall in FZs office. You KNOW there is a story…
Why, more fresh arms, of course! Everyone knows that throwing pitches in AAA don't count, so Brebbia was fresh until he pitched up here. Now Doval will be fresh until he pitches.

But Brebbia didn’t make an appearance…

Well, he spent time on the roster, and arm freshness automatically lessens in the MLB. Doval's clock is ticking.

This was done a few days ago.
He was dfa'd a few days ago. The Giants decided to put him on irrevocable release waivers today instead of allowing him to decide whether he wants to accept or refuse the assignment. They basically made the choice for him that its time to move on.

Ah.

Again, reading between the lines, they don’t like him. Personally.

Seems so. I think he was viewed as a bit of an inflexible student. When you've got guys like Gas, Disco, McGee all willing to change and you don't?

Adios.

I haven’t heard anything. But this is my thought. Every time he is mentioned, it is immediately followed up with “…he wants to have a starter. He sees himself as a starter, not a reliever.”
