I will hold off on posting the trade to the roster until we know the follow-up transaction to clear space for Smith on the 25. I will guess Lopez gets a mystery illness??

My knee-jerk reaction was not appropriate, but I've come around somewhat. We needed one more arm in the Pen and if this is the price to get it done, so be it. At least Smith will be around for 3 more years at a relative cheap price.

I'm not seeing that but we live with what we got. Maybe Bickford becomes the next Ainsworth and not the next Bumgarner.

If I may:

I don't see them DFAing PV, nor do I see them keeping Osich on the roster til Sep expansion. PV becomes the long guy. Casilla/Strick/Romo/Law the righties and Smith/Lopez the lefties. They'll go with 8 relief
pitchers, likely Gearrin. Kontos is odd man out.

You're missing UPS as the reserve catcher, Gonner is likely odd man out.

I went ahead and updated the roster. We currently have 27 guys on the 25-man, so there need to be some counter-moves. I am suspecting Reynolds to be DFA'd (or optioned if he has options) and PV to be DL'd (for whatever the magic 8-ball says is wrong with him today).

Gonnor will likely be DFA'd in the coming days when EA gets activated from the 60.
