He will be under contract, most likely. He has a player option.
I could be wrong but I expect him to be on the 40 man roster through most of spring training 2025. Past that will be determined by his performance in spring and the needs of the team

He will almost certainly opt in, but I wouldn’t consider it a 100% guarantee that he won’t be DFA’d at a moments notice.

3.5M player option...which he likely declines.
8.5 conditional club option if he declines...which the Giants are unlikely to pick up.

He gone.
You really think he declines his option after the season he had?

He is done. Therefore he will activate his option, collecting the payday.

Caveat: if he physically can't play any more, then correct. But doesn't he have to report to ST and try?

I guess the Giants could just DFA him if he's unable to play...

Not if the Giants DFA him.

Will need to wait on test results but Rodriguez could possibly be done for the year

Tyler Fitzgerald's 3.4 fWAR is second among all rookies in baseball, behind only Jackson Merrill (3.7 fWAR) of the San Diego Padres.

Then Fitz needs to try harder to win it and pull an upset.
Merrill has a full season of full time play going for him. Fitzgerald wasn't even in the big leagues for parts of May, June and July and when he was, he didn't get to start regularly until late July. That is pretty impressive that he is even at the number two position.

Don’t forget the pitchers, which will probably have the top 2 slots in the ROY voting (Skenes and Imanaga). On the hitting side, Fitz has probably already done enough to leapfrog over Merrill.

I think that unless he faceplants in the next month-ish, he should finish in AT WORST, 3rd.

It'd be fun if he put up 25 bombs though...Skenes is going to win it but still.
