That’s assuming we lose Gerber, which is not a guarantee. It leaves AAA a little thing. And think about all the middle infielders. Wouldn't they rather move Valera through waivers?

True. However, if he is not claimed, he can walk via free agency. Not a guarantee that he'll stay either. That’s assuming we lose Gerber, which is not a guarantee.
Why would he? Is there another org where he would have a better chance to get mlb time at some point this year?True. However, if he is not claimed, he can walk via free agency. Not a guarantee that he'll stay either.

I hope he doesn’t go there. I want to see him in Black and Orange some day...Baltimore?
I don't think Harper lands in LA. I think he stays on the East Coast. With this 40-man roster, the hated Dogs must be shaking in their cleats. Especially since they just got AJ Pollock and will most likely wind up with Harper. IZWT, I guess.

He chose to stay:
Outfielder Mike Gerber was outrighted after clearing waivers, per the Giants. He’ll remain under control of the San Francisco organization after being claimed and then designated for assignment earlier in the offseason. The 26-year-old Gerber is only a .224/.286/.428 hitter in 334 Triple-A plate appearances but had posted strong numbers at every other level in the Tigers’ farm system.
I do hope that the Giants give whoever they start the season with a good long look before bouncing to other players.Smart man, I'd guess that we see him again.

This may be why they have not brought in any vets. Any vets they bring in will get a ton of unearned pt from Boch.Three or four games should be enough, right?
Sincerely, Boch
I never heard of the guy, but I don’t see anything to get excited about. Not a CF and has no power. Is this one of the two or three outfielders the Giants wanted to get? Giants Claim John Andreoli, Designate Derek Law![]()

Since last August, he has bounced from the Mariners to the Orioles, back to the Mariners, to the Rangers and now, the Giants. He may not be on the Giants' 40 man roster long (of course, they've held on to Valera longer than expected).I never heard of the guy, but I don’t see anything to get excited about. Not a CF and has no power.
