Not to say I am against sending Culby down.

He got his taste, was over-whelmed, now he goes down to work on things he has learned. I like that approach.

Yeah, I think it's time to DFA Buriss. If he gets through waivers, fine. If he doesn't that is just fine too. (Although I don't see how any team would pick him up.) I think Burris is gone when (if) Sanchez comes back.

Oh, somebody'll claim him. There is a paucity of middle infielders right now. And, he can field.

All that said, I'd have no problem cutting him.

I think someone picks him up, but that's beside the point. Manny is gone the second Sabean finds some resolution to Franchez, either A) Franchez shows sign of returning or B) He shows no signs and signs/trades for someone.

There has to be a resolution to this spot though, it has been a black hole in the offense:

161 ABs, 9 runs, 30 hits, 1 2B, 0 3B, 0 HRs, 7 RBI, 2 SB, 3 CS, 10 BB, 27 Ks .186/.237/.193 .430 OPS

By comparison, here is the pitchers slash line:

90 ABs, 1 run, 11 hits, 3 2Bs, 0 3B, 0 HRs, 6 RBI, 0 SBs, 1 CS, 6 BBs, 37 Ks .122/.186/.156 .341 OPS

Burriss/Theriot are practically hitting on the same level as our pitchers, they ain't getting it done, something needs to happen, soon.

I'm not sure you can definitely say that about Riot. Dude's been hurt. Let's see how he is when he gets back. But Mangina? Yeah, he was NEVER a ML hitter.

Yeah, but Theriot wasn't exactly doing anything before he was hurt. Granted, put in the right spot, Theriot could be valuable (LHP only). But he won't be able to do it himself.
