It's hard to argue with guys who want to be in great shape.
It's also easy to see that some of them are fixing the wrong parts.
Frankly, I would rather see them spend less time on strength and conditioning and more on how to hit a ball and run the bases.
Flexibility is important. It's often a trade off with adding bulk. I've known a few roiders-the added muscle mass puts more strain on connective tissue, which often degrades in the 30's. I suspect we'll see some regression to the norm there in MLB.
Great story about Brayan Pena. It sucks that Cuba makes life miserable for these guys who are just trying to make a better life for themselves and their family. We definitely take a lot of our liberty and freedoms for granted.
