I am sure most of you will agree with that statement but I am actually referring to PEDs, particularly HGH and specifically in this instance for the aid in the recovery of injuries.

I know he has discussed HGH two other times in a public setting (once was a late night talk show and the other a sports show iirc) and advocated HGHs use but to what degree I do not know.

Mark Cuban of Dallas Mavericks intends to fund HGH studies - ESPN Dallas

I have done some research on PEDs and primarily HGH for personal use actually (voted against it, will revisit when I am 35). The studies that I found stated that in moderation it is a pretty healthy drug.

Also the amount needed to reap the (more subtle) positive benefits and the amount needed to become a ripped muscle head are pretty far apart.

Prolonged muscle head use is what leads to moon face, an enlarged jaw, distended gut (the organs keep growing), diabetes, and enlarged feet and hands.

There is no doubt that HGH and Testosterone would be immensely beneficial in the NBA. It is a long grueling season and both of those PEDs main benefits are muscle recovery and HGH also has been shown to aid in cartilage and tendon recovery, however the tests and their results are in their infancy stage.

The drugs do not make you bigger, it just allows you to work out much much more and much much more intensely thus growing much much faster. Think of it like 2 people are trying to get from point A to point B. One is running and their rests are 5 minutes. The other is walking and needs to rest just as often but their breaks are 10 minutes.

HGH has more benefits and Testosterone has more side effects. This is why I believe the NFL allows one and not the other.

My concerns would be what is considered an injury...Pops tendonitus comes to mind.

No doubt HGH is a wonder drug which, when done right, has only upside. But that opens a can of worms. I don't think we'll see legal PEDs anytime soon.
