Or maybe, Boss, it should be pointed out that other teams would love to have either healthy for half of a season?

Maybe the ping-pong ball that awarded the Pens Crosby had fine print saying something along the lines of: Only valid for 60 % of each regular season.

Sucks to see the best player in the world (or any player) get injured but as a Sens fan I don't have much sympathy for the Penguins faithful when one of their players goes out for 4 weeks or so.

Haha, yes, you are one who gets a pass on the sympathy card. Sid and Geno just like to make it so they're never healthy at the same time. Like I said earlier: Sid's too much like Mario...allll the injuries!

Okay. Some people have gone to the internet for comparisons

MandibleFx.gif

Not me, I went back to my 16 year old self. Mine was a break at the symphysis, as well as the hinge coming out (dislocation). That combined with a major concussion. And I don't really know if I can classify what was the worst part.

When it happened, I was 5'11 and 179lbs, but by the time I was eating solid food again, I was 150. It's not the malnourishment that's the worst, you can drink things to maintain weight. The worst is the pain in your head at first when you try and do anything. two months into the four I was wired, I was back on my bike. But EVERYTHING hurt. I couldn't get into the gym to try and maintain anything. I lost that 30 lbs, and it was all muscle. When I saw how fast Tocchet came back, I was shocked.

Looking back, I lost probably 8 months. 4 of them completely wasted.

SID IS NOT WIRED SHUT. Boom.

I hope that means for him that he can keep physical activity up.

When I had one of my spine surgeries I gained 20 pounds because I used the drive thro at the Burger King instead of walking in.

Edit: Oh, and my friends wife made me a meatloaf and sent it over to the house.

Oh fuck you, I'm not asking for sympathy. It's Sid's career and legacy that I am lamenting, not a depression I'm entering because the Penguins might finish in second place instead of first.

Sorry, whatever universe you live in, it sucks that the best player in the world keeps running into freak accidents that cause him not be able to play. I guess no one should have felt bad for Mario because hey, at least he got to play for 60% of the season! Lucky him! He's not dead or starving in Africa so we can't feel bad for the guy.

Yeah, the difference in your injury and his is the dislocation. I'm pretty convinced it was only a partial break at the symphasis, and reports are no concussive symptoms as of now. No break at the joint means he's not wired. It's an isolated fracture, so just have to let the bone heal there. Report out suspects 4 weeks. I'd put 3 within reach if he's a quick healer bone wise. He just needs to get to the point where the bones aren't at risk to move and he can put on a cage and be good to go. A big part of it is conditioning too of course, but (and I'm not certain), I THINK he can probably hit the bike/pool with no worries.

Malkin engages beast mode with Crosby out of the lineup. Sid gets a rest before the dance.

I guess i would rather have these injuries (Crosby, Martin, Letang, Fleury to a lesser extent) now rather than late April.

Also, I blame Iggy, he never got a chance to play with a quality NHL center, then he joins a team with quite possibly the two best centers in the world. You just knew it was too good to last.

Yeah, it sucks Cam Neely's career was ruined/shortened by a cheap hit but I guess that's been covered already huh? He may well have gone down as the best right winger ever to play the game but never got the chance to get that distinction. Or Savard who's career is done. Orr had to retire before hitting his prime and there were plenty of dirty hits that contributed to his knee injuries. If he got to play until his late 30's he would be known as the greatest player ever even over Gretz. At least Sid's, Geno's and Mario's injuries were accidental. Be grateful Sid and Geno play again.

I already said I was grateful, but that doesn't mean it's the ideal situation. Oh, I guess you never complain about anything in your life since there is someone somewhere in a worse situation than you right? You break your leg tomorrow, but I'm sure it's all sunshine and daises since you're not dead or paralyzed. Just because a player or a fanbase had it worse doesn't mean I can't lament the fact that Sid's career just took another hit. Or are we only allowed to feel bad for guys who died prematurely and never even got the chance to lace up their skates?

From what I've seen, anyone who's said anything negative about your precious Penguins you've ripped them a new one. I'm pretty sure every team has a player dealing with a tough injury. My apologies though. You wouldn't happen to have Ulf's and Cooke's home address so I could send them a Christmas card in the future would ya?

Oh and btw loki, I won't bother responding to any of your posts. It's not worth my time or effort. At least Dchero understands why Bruins fans hate the Pens with a passion and someone like JTT can joke with us about such things.
