yeah its pretty much still speculation. why not just shutdown for the whole year. even if half way through he is 102.45% healthy. why take the chance if they are still thinking they dont know

Because that will just deter the bandwagon Pens fans. If they leave that glimmer of hope, the casual fan will pay attention more, as oppose to just writing the season off till he is a guarantee. At least that is what I believe.
