After Gonch's display on the shorthanded goal, I would not only say see you later, I would pack his bags for him. That was one of the worst plays by a d-man I have ever seen.

Like I said in another post. That display of "defense" on that short handed goal was pathetic.

Gonchar has always reminded me of Phil Housley. Basically a forward playing on the blue line.

really not sure how gonchar became such a living legend in the first place. until pittsburgh he was always thought of as an offensive defensemen, but a defensive liability, and granted he was good, but never as good as everyone made him out to be in pittsburgh. it always kind of amazed me thathe got SO MUCH praise and so much was attributed to him over the last few years.

His work on the power play has been so good I think it made people overlook his defensive liabilities. That's why I made the comparison to Housley. The same could be said for Paul Coffey he wasn't exactly a stud on defense either.
