How do you not get 1 of the top 2 or both top 2 prospects in that deal?RED SOX RECEIVE
- LHP Garrett Crochet
WHITE SOX RECEIVE
- C Kyle Teel (Boston's No. 4 Prospect)
- OF Braden Montgomery (Boston's No. 6 Prospect)
- SS Chase Meidroth (Boston's No. 8 Prospect)
- RHP Wikelman Gonzalez
Way too light. That's kind of embarrassingI thought it was light.
Interesting! Sentiment from the Red Sox side(that I have seen) seems to indicate that they gave up too much for only 2 years of the mostly unproven Crochet.Way too light. That's kind of embarrassing
I think it can be both things to both sides. Your point is valid, but I also think White Sox could have gotten more for him if they just waited.Interesting! Poorly run franchises do stupid things. The funny thing is, why were White Sox is such a hurry? He is more valuable once free agency is over and the teams that didn't get one will pay more.
Agreed he's mostly unproven but the stuff he brings to the table should have netted Chicago top or #2 prospect.Interesting! Sentiment from the Red Sox side(that I have seen) seems to indicate that they gave up too much for only 2 years of the mostly unproven Crochet.
@jerseyhawksfan79 So where is the fit for a trade between the Red Sox and Mariners? I know the Red Sox want to pry one of the Mariners young arms away, but it seems like only Castillo is being made available. What are the M’s looking for in return? His contract seems pretty reasonable and I know Casas has been mentioned in trade talks. I just don’t see how the Sox would give up Casas in a deal like that.I think it can be both things to both sides. No one is taking Castillo at this time. I feel he's more of a deadline deal to a contender. I'm not sure which pitcher Boston is interested in but I would assume Gilbert/Kirby and possibly Woo.@jerseyhawksfan79 So where is the fit for a trade between the Red Sox and Mariners? I don’t know why these two teams are even linked. From Seattle perspective Casas isn’t remotely enough to get Castillo and he is only one on the Red Sox roster that the Mariners could use with the current roster. The teams only line up if there is some huge blockbuster where there is a crap load of players traded between the two or there is another team involved.@jerseyhawksfan79 So where is the fit for a trade between the Red Sox and Mariners? The Mariners have a ton of arms and the Red Sox have a lot of young positional players/prospects. So, theoretically, they match up there. But the specific match might not be there at all.I don’t know why these two teams are even linked.
