Not knowing the situation, and only getting the half of the story that the team wanted out there... I will reserve judgement on the player.
No. I know what was said, but I don’t know the truth nor do you
Right. Which is why I'm not calling him a sissy.![]()
Handled poorly from both sides? I have to hear this explanation then Shark. Cravens fuked the organization, teammates and I'm sure others along his way last year. He basically told Compton he has no heart for this game and didn't want to be there. We as fans likely don't know all the details but from what info we have been provided, he was brought in, discussed his situation and both sides felt he needed time away to consider his future in football. While he let his teammates and organization down, I'm certain after more discussion with the FO, it was decided Cravens was still somewhere between committed and withdrawn which is where a trade would have come back into discussions on our side once he re-applied to active status in the NFL. A trade was imminent, it happened and both side can now move forward.I actually hope he gets his shit in order and does well. Got no beef with the Broncos. And I think the situation was handled poorly from both sides as far as his time in DC.
Considering the circumstances, fair. Now lets move on...I think we are getting off track here. What does everyone think about the compensation?
These SM “football players” are looking pretty bad

You can't be on the USC sideline yuking it up while your team is in their hotel preparing for the Rams the next day. You just can't do that.
IMO yes. Dude is waaay to sensitive, ego driven and would benefit from not responding immediately to things. Shades of a Griffin lite.

In short, Cravens problems were his and his alone, not the organizations. And likely, he still has those same problems floating around in his head and heart. I'm sure they reached out to him, offered help (counseling, time away etc) and Cravens made his choices which is what life is all about. What's done is done and I for one am not pointing a finger at Cravens. Move along fella, see ya and good luck! (Here's looking at you Scotty Mac)
HTTR!
In a guy who is not 110% interested in playing football as a job, likely why Denver was the only one in play. The Skins actually received some compensation for that so I'm calling it fair however, the real loser in this situation is the Skins because they received little compensation for a player they highly invested in just to see him walk away.I thought we get a 4th. I guess Denver was the only team interested.
Who knows ultimately. Kids these days are very different from when I was growing up. Privacy means nothing to most of them but privacy would allow youthful mistakes from being public fodder. Again, only my opinion.Maybe you're right![]()
Purely speculation Shark. No offense man, but you nor I have no idea what discussions took place. This we do know, Cravens has handled himself like an immature, confused person who is not ready to handle the daily stressors of life as it pertains to football business, relationships and the alike. Maybe one day he will really get the professional help he needs to sort out his thoughts that affect him on a daily basis. In short I will say this.
Most people dont make this kind of move at the drop of a hat. Handled poorly on his part because IF he were having these types of thoughts, this is something he should have made aware to the team I dont know, in the MONTHS leading up to the final roster cuts.
Handled poorly by the team because they apparently had no idea. Which would lead one to think maybe the coaches and GM didnt or dont take the time to actually talk to the players outside of football talk.
So as I said, handled poorly on both sides.
You got something for nothing. Cravens wasn't going to be a Skin this year no matter what.I think we are getting off track here. What does everyone think about the compensation?
As a Skins fan, I have been reduced to claiming victory when they make the best out of a bad situation (Cousins, Cravens).
