This is the problem with these cases......so a woman has bruises, that doesn't prove HE caused them. She could have bruised herself in an attempt to frame him, she could have fallen down stairs, or any ridiculous thing.

Simply showing pics of bruises doesn't place him there, or make him responsible. Which is probably why the police dismissed it.
