I would've thought that as well. But the ball was determined to have not crossed the plane. Which actually makes sense when you think about it. You can be standing in the EZ catch a ball that necer breaks the plane, it's not a score. Thd ball has to cross. In these two instances the ball is in their left hand. Without replay from all angles I don't think it crossed
