Take heart, the last mock draft I saw at ESPN had Dallas getting Warren at 12.
If he is BPA I have no problem with it. We need to hit big on this pick. I don't want them to draft another project, who is not BPA, in round one. They did this in round one two years in a row and so far the results are not good. Even if the BPA ends up being a QB. Position does not matter to me.

I think Warren is a future All Pro so I would have no problem with him being the pick. Warren is the type of player I want. A guy like Barron is what I want. I want a player that has the skills and one that is ultra confident with alpha mentality. Insert Membou in here as well. I want a lineman that wants to get nasty.

I think though they will try real hard to trade down and not go TE. Warren,if he drops, would be somebody that a team would trade up for.

If I thought he was a future All Pro I'd be 100% for the move. I don't, which is why I hope he goes before we are on the clock.

and it could be anther 6 to 10 years before we see the Cowboys in another NFC championship game
Yep, by then hopefully the Jones sell the team. Cuz if Stevie Wonder boy is running things it going to be SSDD. Jerry looks like a walking corpse. There got to be somebody with enough money to buy the Cowboys?

This team never has drafted a TE in round one and I don't expect them to do it anytime soon. I think the pick in round one will be either WR,CB,RB or lineman. Possibly it could be a LB,but IDK

Absolutely. If you don't see the player that way, no way you take a TE there. I think he's special, that's the only reason for me

It's astonishing how many football dumbasses there are out there. This Dak to the Browns crap is all over the place. Why on Earth would Dallas sign Dak to a quarter of a billion dollar deal only to trade him before the first season of the deal kicks in? What the Hell would his dead cap number be, like $140M? People will believe any bullshit that's written

These stories and rumors seem to always involve the Cowboys. They do it for clicks. Sports Illustrated was mentioning this yesterday. Click baiting like they are the National enquirer. Dak is not tradable with the cost and his injury history.

I bet nobody would have given him a huge deal with that injury he suffered last season. All they needed to do was not give him the extension and he would not have gotten as big of a bag. Now they are stuck with Dak. If Dak was going to carry this team deep into the post season it would have already happened when he had a better supporting cast.

Don't get me wrong I think Dak has been a good QB,but not worth the two extensions he signed. Especially the 2nd one. I was all for letting him hit FA this off-season.

I'm exactly where you are. Good, solid QB, great leader and teammates, world class at knowing how to maximize his value. It's not his fault Jerry is a dumbass who pays him $5M a year more than necessary every damn year. That said, his and his agents skill negotiated him out of town if it's me, because THIS team doesn't work the cap we'll enough or spend enough cash to put together a roster around him that will allow his skill level to lead us to a Super Bowl. For me, I would rather have losing seasons while legitimately trying to win a Lombardi. And none of that involves pretending Cooper Rush has been the best we could do of we did part ways

per Spotrac if we trade him today his 2025 cap hit is $150M (and additional $97M).
Post 6/1 trade: We save $2M against the cap this year if we trade him post 6/1. Next year of course would be an additional $97M cap hit!!! So it would be a $173M cap hit in total for 2026 if we traded him post 6/1 this year!!! Plus don't forget Jerry having to explain why he gave Dak that contract and traded him before it even started. Good deal for Cle though :pound:

2027 is the year to start thinking about what to do with Dak. We can't go back in time and not sign him. He has two years to earn the last two years of his deal. Hopefully he does it :hope:

I agree. Sometimes you got to hit rock bottom in the NFL to build a Superbowl roster. They may hit rock bottom this season if the draft goes sideways. What stood out to me last season was the tackles were bad in pass protection. This must be fixed or the offense is going to struggle again.

I would fucking celebrate if it happened. Lots of fellas on here would be moonwalking their ass off round week 10 lol
I really like the top two TE in this draft. Loveland is a real good receiving TE. He is better than any TE on the roster IMO. Ferg was bad last year. He may have been hurt. If he was not hurt then we got a problem at TE.

Warren brings more than Loveland. Warren can be used in multiple ways. The main reason I like the fit is they appear to be transitioning to more of a running offense. With the OT situation they may need to use 12 personnel more than in the past. Dak needs better blocking up front. I believe the offense would be less predictable if they transitioned away from Mccarthys pass happy scheme and play calling. This is where Warren would fit. He can take handoffs and run the ball effectively. He can block very well. He is a matchup problem due to his size and versatility.

I agree on Loveland and I actually think Mason Taylor out of LSU is better than Ferguson as well. For me personally, the only guys I wouldn't draft over would be Lamb, but we need other WR's as well so that's on the board, and Micah, but we need more edge rushers as well, so that is too. I'm not passing on a difference maker because we have someone decent to pretty on the team. I would draft over Mazi, Guyton, Steele, Hoffman, Tolbert, Fergie, Hooker, DWil, whoever the Hell our slot corner is, I would still draft a stud 3T despite Osa being here, I would draft a QB of the future if I thought he was a stud, and I might draft 2 RB's. We don't need to pigeon hole ourselves trying to plug gaps to go from 7-9 to 10-7. We need to make the teams talent better

A month ago when the going rate for elite pass rushers was $34M, and Micah was literally quoted as "not needing $40M per"...as usual, the Cowboys sit on their hands...Micah is reportedly looking for 5 years, $200M+. Hey, why not wait till after the 25 season and see if we can get that number to $250M. Why not?

It's sad TBH. It's all about the brand and attention and it been that way for 29 years they could have signed several starters in FA with the Cap money they waste.

They should wait until next year when he'll get $50M per. That'll show him...
I think Jerry just wants to be able to brag that he made Micah the highed paid non QB. Which is so fucking dumb IMO
