well shit...on to 2026 then

second verse, same as the first
I'll root just as hard as you will all 17 games my friend. Said it before, and I'll stick to it, if we do the same crap as last year which means letting Osa, JLewis, Kavontae, Dowdle, Martin and Kendricks all walk in FA and using our draft picks and vet minimum players replace them, against the schedule we have, then we have zero shot at the playoffs

To all of you who are under the delusion that we will make any improvements, operate any differently or be any better in 2025:

More Losses. Jerry is delusional

They are screwed if they let all these players walk. They need to bring back the first four you listed. If not they got a better chance at the first overall pick than the playoffs. We don't even know if Dak can execute a play action without getting hurt. But hey if Arch Manning is there at number one? I would love it

What pisses me off is that we won the division last year over Philly and then Jerry and Stephen decided to pocket some cash for their great grandkids grandkids and took an entire offseason off other than the draft letting 5 starters walk while Philly is bringing in Barkley and we answer with Zeke. And now Jerry says we are going with the same offseason model as last year when we have 14 off our 2 deep set to walk? Fuck that. I'll root for my team but I expect us to be ass

They need resign our top guys, add another FA DT, WR and LB on top of that and draft for talent instead of need. If we let Osa, Lewis, Turpin, Kendricks and Tank all walk(with Overshown already out for next season and Diggs likely till August), there is no possible way, none, that our draft class will make up for the guys we lost. Jerry says "win now" but then says the same approach to the offseason as last year. I want every fan, local media and national media ragging his ass for the terrible job he is doing. They would even screw up the Arch Manning deal, they could get the top overall pick and take an OL everyone else ranks as a 2nd rounder

So lets assume Jerry gets reactionary as he should if he wants to win by restructures to Lamb & Dak. Sign Parsons to the highest contract for a defensive player that reduces his cap number by 10M for 2025. You are now with 68M the play in FA.

What would you do?
How many of your own guys you bidding on cause they truely are not replaceable.

I fight for Osa...maybe Goldston if we act QUICKLY. Not sure about the $$$ it could cost for Lewis & Turpin. I try to get Dowdle at 3 years (2 preferred) based on interest. Could 3 years for 12 or 13M with 8M guaranteed get it done?

THIS IS OUR FIRST CLUE REAL FAST TO SEE IF ANYTHING IS DIFFERENT.

what do y'all think?

Great question. My thought would be, put our own players on a big board with every other FA at their position. Identify your biggest needs and pay for the best players you can afford. I would pay the player whatever salary their play warrants, but if the player is 30 or older it would be 1-2 years max, longer terms for younger. Have a team you can line up and PLAY FOOTBALL with going into your draft and simply take the best player on your board each round and lock up good young cheap talent

For the right price I’d like to include Hoffman in this group. Just not too sure what that price is right now.

I think a very strong argument to be made to sign ALL those you mentioned. If they want to contend they got to be aggressive...change their dumb ways. Spend money

I liked what all those players did last year. More so than that big group of players they lost last off season ..

I heard a podcast that was depressing but made sense. Said the Cowboys are getting coaches with a history of developing Young players because it's gonna be draft picks and the players we have now. Purge

Don’t know if Dallas should focus on LBers. I don’t think anyone should give big money to LBers. I don’t think it’s a great year for DTs and DEs. Sweat is gonna get 100 million and even though he had a great SB and maybe should have won MVP he is just an above average DE. He goes long stretches with no sacks.
Milton Williams is better but he didn’t even start for Philly. Not a great year for FAs. Puts Jerry in a bad place because he gets a lot of heat for not spending but should he give average to good players huge money because of the pressure he’s under?

Dak 45M restructure to bonus spreading 9M per years 2025 to 2029
Cap savings of 36M (89.9M to 53.9M)

Cee Dee 25M restructure to bonus spreading 5M per years 2025 TO 2030 Cap savings 20M (26.8M to 6.8M)

Parsons is already on the 2025 books for his 5th year option at 21M. They seem to think they will make him the highest paid defensive player and still reduce his 2025 cap number 11M.
Dammit Jerry.
You better do the above.

All that could be done, and the Cowboys could be aggressive in FA and be a true contender. The cap will go up $100M in 5 years so there will be no " cap Hell". Of course, if we created that space, they would have to write the signing bonus checks and spend the additional salary for new players. I put the chances of doing anything early but Dak at near zero. They will hide behind having to pay Micah all summer to avoid spending in FA. They could also go the route of their rivals and sell 10% of the team, which would literally generate a BILLION dollars in cash to spend, but that's not happening either. They will restructure Dak, bring back any of our own FA's that will accept a discount (meaning no Osa, Lewis or likely Dowdle), go need instead of BPA in the draft, sign 10-15 undrafted FA'S and some scrap heap FA'S off the couch and that will be our team
