just f-in do it jerry.
be somebody

Think about what you're saying though...Mazi should be #4 DT...Mazi isn't going to be #4. He will start. He is the only DT on the roster..I have no problem with not paying Osa $21M per(that's Jerry and Stephen's fault for waiting), but it really boxes us in to drafting for need and reaching for DT's. Eberflus needs a pass rush from 3T(Warren Sapp is the prototype in his scheme), and Osa is the best pass rusher on the market. The draft is deep at DT, but more the monstrous 1T type. They would be reaching at 12, but that's exactly how we ended up with Mazi. You aren't wrong in anything you said, but the front office has done a pathetic job at roster buildingDo we want to stop the run, or not?
I hope this team has seen enough of Osa to know he isn’t a $20M player. Let someone else pay that if that’s what he gets. He is below average for a starting 3 tech against the run and a little above average against the pass. $15M range? Sure I’m in. For $20M I want a guy who is good on early downs, not just “ok”. If Osa is back he should be in more of a rotation in a much deeper DT room than we currently have. Add two DTs via the draft or free agency who are actually good and play Osa with them and we are talking. Mazi should be the #4 DT on the depth chart At best.
I hope all those moves are made.@jarntt
I've read recently moving cap hit from current year to future years makes sense if the player is likely to see those years. 20M takes up a higher percentage of cap space in 2025 than it would in future years with higher caps.
with this said. An article says we could add 67M in space with no regrets. I read...
Dak 45M restructure to bonus spreading 9M per years 2025 to 2029
Cap savings of 36M (89.9M to 53.9M)
Cee Dee 25M restructure to bonus spreading 5M per years 2025 TO 2030 Cap savings 20M (26.8M to 6.8M)
Parsons is already on the 2025 books for his 5th year option at 21M. They seem to think they will make him the highest paid defensive player and still reduce his 2025 cap number 11M.
The article said players on decline (Steele) or injury (Diggs) aren't wise restructures.
What do you think?
The good thing is..this is deep draft for D-line. We should be able to get a couple of young D-lineman in this draft.Do we want to stop the run, or not?

I've seen updated mocks by people who are always pretty good...lots of DT's and RB's flying off the board in the first couple of rounds now. Throwing away that 4th is really going to fuck us up in the draft as far as flexibility. This is a year when the Cowboys would be so much better off if they filled needs in FA and didn't HAVE to have certain positions early in the draft. But we won't. We are going to have more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese. They will depend on finding starters with their seven picks that are 5th round or later. Good luck with thatThe good thing is..this is deep draft for D-line. We should be able to get a couple of young D-lineman in this draft.
A new DC and staff owes Mazi nothing. If we keep Osa and draft or sign a FA I don't see anyway Mazi is starting unless he is twice the player we have seen thus far. He shouldn't even have started last year if we had any clue how to build a roster. As far as Osa being the best pass rusher on the free agent market, he has 13.5 sacks in 4 full seasons. His season high is 4.5. This is while playing in every game and usually 80% of the snaps. I like Osa a lot, but overvaluing their own players is what has killed this team for years from a cap perspective. If the DL isn't significantly better this team will go nowhere and you don't get significantly better by just playing all of the same guys.Think about what you're saying though...Mazi should be #4 DT...Mazi isn't going to be #4. I agree with everything you are saying. The problem with this team is, there's what the team needs to do and what they will do. Mazi was OK at best last season. Osa was good but not great(he should have been resigned a year ago, but as I said, we are mismanaged). This club drafts really well when they just pick the REAL best player on their board and don't draft for specific needs. You really can't trust their board anymore though because now, pathetically, they are sugar coating their board. Knowing they need certain positions, they will have certain guys ranked higher than they actually see them so they can say "We needed a DT and Mazi was the best player on our board. What luck". An example of drafting for need would have been passing on CeeDee Lamb and taking K'Lavon Chaisson or taking Johnny Football over Zach Martin. We just can't afford to do it but we willA new DC and staff owes Mazi nothing.
