"hey, you just won the Super Bowl, how about we set up a game against you and some college kids?"

gee, I could only imagine how excited I would be to play that game

When would an NFL team ever be excited to play a college team though?

Yeah, early on. But what about those years when they competed against the best during the 70s?

I'd say it wasn't until the 80s where you saw a huge separation in the NFL and college. Part of the reason was scholarship limits kept being lowered in college around this time. People often forget that there was once a time when a college program could grab all the talent they wanted in the world.

Now it's ungodly different in terms of physicality, talent, and experience.

But pre-70s ... there are some college teams who would have legitimately won games in the pros. College football was bigger than pro football back then too.

The NFL has simply evolved into a whole planet of its own. They know how to physically and mentally develop players to a science. And that's why the best of those players make millions a year. Dey finely tuned athletic machines ....

NFL athletes are much bigger and faster then they were back then.

Anyone who thinks the game would even be close needs to get their head checked.

:agree: Don't kill the messenger.

Could? Yes, anything is possible.

Chances of actually pulling it off? Very, very low.

No. It's not possible. The spread would be over 100.

I don't think it's a coincidence either than a college team didn't win the Allstar game after 1963 and only won 1 after 1958.

I think they'd also have a chance against the Steelers, Raiders, Bucs, and Viqueens too.

Only a moron would think they had a chance. They struggled to score on VT who don't have a lot of high profile defensive players. A few CBs but that is it,

Seconded. This is the dumber thing ever. We are not even sure Bama is a great college team. Maybe 3-4 players would play for Jackonville.
