Yeah, I just use butter, salt and pepper too. However, my father-in-law did turn me on to putting a little spicy Tony Chachere's on it, which was pretty damn good too.

The other day I saw someplace where you add a pack of dried Ranch Dressing to a stick of butter..one of those make your own ranch dressing packages.

I grilled the corn on the grill and used that ranch dressing/butter mixture.....that was some good eating there. I'm doing that again at the SU Game tomorrow night.

similar here, but I leave the husk off while grilling. Get em good and grilled, then slather on a mixture of half mayo and half sour cream (about half a cup of each for 4 ears), then squirt some lime on that, a little chili powder, and cover in parmesan cheese.

It's the shit! Gonna try your way with the husks on and without the mayo/cream mix. SOunds good too.

try this shit instead...yum

Yeah ford....grilling with the husk on is what I was taught. I soak the corn...in the husk in water for at least a couple of hours so the water up husk stop them from burning and add a little steam action while cooking. Seems to work.

I just preheat the oven to 350, toss an ear in, and wait a half hour. I usually stick with just butter, salt, and pepper once it's done. I strip the kernels off with a knife into a bowl before serving because I think it helps with a better proportion of seasoning.

I've never had corn on the cob served with anything other than salt and butter. Always worked for me. My grandparents were farmers, and gave the kids a few tips. Corn on the cob is best FRESH, and when it is fresh, generally only takes about 5 minutes to cook. Their definition of fresh, btw: fill your pot with water, and turn the heat on . Go out to the field and pick the corn. By the time you're done cleaning the corn, the water should be boiling.

Corn on the cob also works well with a basic vegetable steamer, if you have one of those.

uh huh....corn on the cob is one thing I will NEVER order at a restaurant and I seldom buy it from a supermarket either.

Out of my garden, or someone else's or bust.
