It definitely seems like Tatum reached a certain level and hasn't progressed beyond it. Brown closing the gap makes it seem like the C's have two number 2's instead of a #1 and a #2.

Throughout this series Brown has cooked in the 1Q and then the Celtics get away from him and every time it happens I breath a sigh of relief. Brown is going to beg out this summer and 3 years from now I think we will all be able to do a better head to head comparison and we will all agree Brown > Tatum. Brown was already a better defender. He’s approaching his level of offense which I think he has but Celtics have him locked into being below Tatum. If the Celtics are smart, they shop Tatum and not Brown. It’s the better choice for them just assessing the players and they’re likely to get more back for Tatum than they will Brown.

I think it’s both. I think people sleep on Jaylen Brown. I also think he still has more to give. If he’s given the opportunity to dominate the ball, I think it will be revealed that he’s a playmaker as well.

I think at the end of the day, coaching matters and the Celtics right now are getting outcoached by Doc Rivers (ouch). He's not doing anything special, but he is calling timeouts when most coaches would do so to stop runs, and other basic shit that Mazzulla doesn't do.

I think that is the difference in the series as much as the players. I think it would be stupid for the Celtics to blow up their core, which is very good.
